Parsha Terumah, Stories, Ed-Op on using AI, news.

Please remove from the prayer list Yisrael Dovid ben Chaya Yenta.

Parsha Teruma

Moshe has gone up the Mountain to receive the two tablets of sapphire with the Asera Dibros on them. We had last week rules for the behavior of mankind. This week starts the collection of materials for Mishkan and later Parshiyos will describe details of the Mishkan and the clothing of the Cohanim especially Cohain Gadol.

25:1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying: 2 'Speak unto the children of Israel, that they take for Me an offering; of every man whose heart make him willing ye shall take My offering. 3 And this is the offering which ye shall take of them: gold, and silver, and brass; 4 and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair; 5 and rams' skins dyed red, and giraffe skins, and acacia-wood; 6 oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense; 7 onyx stones, and stones to be set, for the ephod, and for the breastplate.

Only the most precious material and dyes, hard wood, jewels were to be used in the construction of the Mishkan. This theme of the best of the best is found later on in the Midncha Korban or flour Korban ground to the finest particles. The Incense being pounded to the finest of fine spices and ingredients. Finally, the olive oil used is extra virgin oil.

8 And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. 9 According to all that I show thee, the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the furniture thereof, even so shall ye make it.

Moshe will be shown the pattern but it will take craftsmen that are skilled receiving a prophetic dream who will be able to create the Mishkan and items within.

10 And they shall make an ark of acacia-wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof. 11 And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt make upon it a crown of gold round about.

These trees would have to be tall and wide based on the dimension that are given later. The Midrash tells us that Yacov had prophecy. He planted Acadia Trees on his way to Egypt some 210 years previously.

12 And thou shalt cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in the four feet thereof; and two rings shall be on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side of it. 13 And thou shalt make staves of acacia-wood, and overlay them with gold.

The Temple Institute encountered problems in casting the Menorah. Casting string rings of gold with such a width and strength for holding up the staves and t.hen the Aron Kodesh would need precise thickness.

14 And thou shalt put the staves into the rings on the sides of the ark, wherewith to bear the ark. 15 The staves shall be in the rings of the ark; they shall not be taken from it. 16 And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give thee.

Building a lathe or spinning holder in the wilderness to make these staves as I picture them. As I picture them round and strong Otherwise one could more easily make a two by two smooth plank but that is not round.

17 And thou shalt make an ark-cover of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof. 18 And thou shalt make two cherubim of gold; of beaten work shalt thou make them, at the two ends of the ark-cover.

The Teva and cover have to match precisely and be cast in one piece and a second precisely matching cover.

19 And make one cherub at the one end, and one cherub at the other end; of one piece with the ark-cover shall ye make the cherubim of the two ends thereof. 20 And the cherubim shall spread out their wings on high, screening the ark-cover with their wings, with their faces one to another; toward the ark-cover shall the faces of the cherubim be.

Two molded Keruvim most likely the lower area would have a screw a socket placed on the cover. Why do I say this? For the Keruvim would face one another when Yisrael deserved it and rotated apart when Yisrael was ready for a Gallus. (Gallus meaning dispersion has a route in the word for France in Greek was Gaul.

21 And thou shalt put the ark-cover above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. 22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will speak with thee from above the ark-cover, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

The dimensions formed a precision communications device between mankind and the Divine.

23 And thou shalt make a table of acacia-wood: two cubits shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof. 24 And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, and make thereto a crown of gold round about. 25 And thou shalt make unto it a border of a handbreadth round about, and thou shalt make a golden crown to the border thereof round about.

Everything was molded and filed down or soldered if there was a bubble hole from the mold unless a miracle occurred and that the mold and gold were a perfect vacuum.

26 And thou shalt make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners that are on the four feet thereof. 27 Close by the border shall the rings be, for places for the staves to bear the table. 28 And thou shalt make the staves of acacia-wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be borne with them. 29 And thou shalt make the dishes thereof, and the pans thereof, and the jars thereof, and the bowls thereof, wherewith to pour out; of pure gold shalt thou make them. 30 And thou shalt set upon the table showbread before Me always.

No expense was spared for the Mishkan for gold, silver or brass as these items were for HASHEM.

31 And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made, even its base, and its shaft; its cups, its knops, and its flowers, shall be of one piece with it. 32 And there shall be six branches going out of the sides thereof: three branches of the candlestick out of the one side thereof, and three branches of the candle-stick out of the other side thereof; 33 three cups made like almond-blossoms in one branch, a knop and a flower; and three cups made like almond-blossoms in the other branch, a knop and a flower; so for the six branches going out of the candlestick.

The Temple Institute cast theirs as one piece of gold which was most difficult with our current technology and then the flowers and blossoms beaten.

34 And in the candlestick four cups made like almond-blossoms, the knops thereof, and the flowers thereof. 35 And a knop under two branches of one piece with it, and a knop under two branches of one piece with it, and a knop under two branches of one piece with it, for the six branches going out of the candlestick.

Molded with a center piece and three branches on each side.

36 Their knops and their branches shall be of one piece with it; the whole of it one beaten work of pure gold. 37 And thou shalt make the lamps thereof, seven; and they shall light the lamps thereof, to give light over against it.

Lamp holders were included in the Menorah one would place the lamp upon them.

38 And the tongs thereof, and the snuff dishes thereof, shall be of pure gold. 39 Of a talent of pure gold shall it be made, with all these vessels. 40 And see that thou make them after their pattern, which is being shown thee in the mount.

To hold the smoking incense.

26:1  Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains: of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, with cherubim the work of the skillful workman shalt thou make them. 2 The length of each curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits; all the curtains shall have one measure.

Each dye of each of the fine linen cloths had to be dyed in a standard uniform color.

3 Five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and the other five curtains shall be coupled one to another. 4 And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the first set; and likewise shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is outmost in the second set.

These curtains were very heavy and took quite a number of Cohanim or Cohanim and Leviim with pulleys to lift them.

5 Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is in the second set; the loops shall be opposite one to another. 6 And thou shalt make fifty clasps of gold, and couple the curtains one to another with the clasps, that the tabernacle may be one whole.

Because of the tremendous weight, 50 clamps were needed.

7 And thou shalt make curtains of goats' hair for a tent over the tabernacle; eleven curtains shalt thou make them. 8 The length of each curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits; the eleven curtains shall have one measure.

Women spun the goat’s hair end to end to make a long strong thread.

9 And thou shalt couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and shalt double over the sixth curtain in the forefront of the tent. 10 And thou shalt make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the first set, and fifty loops upon the edge of the curtain which is outmost in the second set.

The thickness became a hand’s width and taking into the area of the curtains and the density of water it took 300 Cohanim to Tovel the curtains of the Mikdash.

11 And thou shalt make fifty clasps of brass, and put the clasps into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one. 12 And as for the overhanging part that remains of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remains over shall hang over the back of the tabernacle.

Now we get into the dimensions of the Mishkan.

13 And the cubit on the one side, and the cubit on the other side, of that which remain over in the length of the curtains of the tent, shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it. 14 And thou shalt make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red and a covering of giraffe skins above.

The boards held all this weight.

15 And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle of acacia-wood, standing up. 16 Ten cubits shall be the length of a board, and a cubit and a half the breadth of each board. 17 Two tenons shall there be in each board, joined one to another; thus shalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle.

The boards were moveable columns think on the bottom tapered to the top and joined together and held in place by staves that th ey supported the tremendous weight of the curtains and covering skins.

18 And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards for the south side southward: 19 And thou shalt make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards: two sockets under one board for its two tenons, and two sockets under another board for its two tenons; 20 and for the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, twenty boards. 21 And their forty sockets of silver: two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board. 22 And for the hinder part of the tabernacle westward thou shalt make six boards.

Thus, a four-sided rectangle held together by staves and having a space of 6 Amos for entrance and exits of the Cohanim.

23 And two boards shalt thou make for the corners of the tabernacle in the hinder part. 24 And they shall be double beneath, and in like manner they shall be complete unto the top thereof unto the first ring; thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.

The dimensions of the Tabernacle is mentioned for the Cohanim and us today to picture it.

25 Thus there shall be eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets: two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board. 26 And thou shalt make bars of acacia-wood: five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle, 27 and five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the hinder part westward; 28 and the middle bar in the midst of the boards, which shall pass through from end to end. 29 And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold for holders for the bars; and thou shalt overlay the bars with gold. 30 And thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to the fashion thereof which hath been shown thee in the mount.

Up until now we have the main tent of meeting.

31 And thou shalt make a veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen; with cherubim the work of the skillful workman shall it be made. 32 And thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold, their hooks being of gold, upon four sockets of silver. 33 And thou shalt hang up the veil under the clasps, and shalt bring in thither within the veil the ark of the testimony; and the veil shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.

Now we are told to have an inner tent to protect the average Cohain from the Cohain Gadol on Yom Kippur.

34 And thou shalt put the ark-cover upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

This will later be called the Holy of Holies.

35 And thou shalt set the table without the veil, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south; and thou shalt put the table on the north side.

Now we are given the interior arrangements.

36 And thou shalt make a screen for the door of the Tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of the weaver in colors. 37 And thou shalt make for the screen five pillars of acacia, and overlay them with gold; their hooks shall be of gold; and thou shalt cast five sockets of brass for them.

Here ends the description of the building a instruments therein.

27:1 And thou shalt make the altar of acacia-wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be four-square; and the height thereof shall be three cubits. 2 And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof; the horns thereof shall be of one piece with it; and thou shalt overlay it with brass.

Now the various Mizbayachim of gold-plated wood and onwards.

3 And thou shalt make its pots to take away its ashes, and its shovels, and its basins, and its flesh-hooks, and its fire-pans; all the vessels thereof thou shalt make of brass. 4 And thou shalt make for it a grating of network of brass; and upon the net shalt thou make four brazen rings in the four corners thereof.

The design shall include ash gathering.

5 And thou shalt put it under the ledge round the altar beneath, that the net may reach halfway up the altar. 6 And thou shalt make staves for the altar, staves of acacia-wood, and overlay them with brass.

For transportation in the Midbar.

7 And the staves thereof shall be put into the rings, and the staves shall be upon the two sides of the altar, in bearing it. 8 Hollow with planks shalt thou make it; as it hath been shown thee in the mount, so shall they make it. 9 And thou shalt make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen a hundred cubits long for one side. 10 And the pillars thereof shall be twenty, and their sockets twenty, of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver.

The Leviim needed to know which boards were north or south etc. for reconstructions.

11 And likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings a hundred cubits long, and the pillars thereof twenty, and their sockets twenty, of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver. 12 And for the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits: their pillars ten, and their sockets ten. 13 And the breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits. 14 The hangings for the one side [of the gate] shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three. 15 And for the other side shall be hangings of fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three. 16 And for the gate of the court shall be a screen of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of the weaver in colors: their pillars four, and their sockets four. 17 All the pillars of the court round about shall be filleted with silver; their hooks of silver, and their sockets of brass. 18 The length of the court shall be a hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty everywhere, and the height five cubits, of fine twined linen, and their sockets of brass. 19 All the instruments of the tabernacle in all the service thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court, shall be of brass.

Nazi Plot to take over the USA

https://www.timesofisrael.com/ultra-podcast-depicts-little-known-nazi-funded-plot-to-topple-us-government/

Rachael Maddow’s podcast how white nationalists planned to bomb Jewish Institutions.

By the time William Dudley Pelley called for the forced sterilization of all Jewish males in 1939, the American white supremacist’s “Brown Shirts”-inspired militia claimed more than 100,000 members.

Dubbed the United States’ first “native fascist,” Pelley led one of several loosely connected plots to overthrow US president Franklin Roosevelt and install a pro-Nazi government with emergency powers.

“A wave of race vengeance approximating the aspects of a coast-to-coast pogrom is inevitably ahead for the Jews of America as more millions of them crowd in with immigration barriers lifted,” predicted Pelley in his Liberation magazine.

“A wave of race vengeance approximating the aspects of a coast-to-coast pogrom is inevitably ahead for the Jews of America as more millions of them crowd in with immigration barriers lifted,” predicted Pelley in his Liberation magazine.

And the final episode came out on the day before the verdicts. So, I didn’t mean for it to be that tightly sort of correlated over time with the history, but the cases have a lot in common,” said Maddow.

As for Pelley’s elaborate vision of igniting racial warfare, the catalyst would be the planned kidnapping and execution of 20 prominent Hollywood figures, including several Jews. The hit list included Louis B. Mayer, Al Jolson, Charlie Chaplin and James Cagney.

Originally planned in 1936, the public spectacle would involve marching the victims to a park, hanging them, and “shooting them full with lead,” after which Jews throughout the country would begin to flee.

As outlandish as the plan appears, Nazi Germany invested heavily in southern California “assets” beginning in 1933. Alongside a network of pro-German spies who regularly used Los Angeles port facilities, thousands of Ku Klux Klan members expected some of the region’s 50 German-American organizations — with their 150,000 members — to unite around common goals.

East of California, in the American heartland, right-wing militant infrastructure grew under the direction of Father Charles Coughlin’s Christian Front. In Coughlin’s heyday as radio’s leading anti-Jewish personality, one in every four Americans listened to his weekly sermons.

Off the air, thousands of Coughlin’s followers were dividing themselves into “cell” teams, each preparing to attack one or more of several hundred targets simultaneously.

“The group was planning on [murdering] a number of congressmen, blowing up both Jewish businesses and other notable targets in the New York area and in the northeast, and then hopefully causing such panic that it would create a state of emergency,” said Maddow.

“The group was planning on [murdering] a number of congressmen, blowing up both Jewish businesses and other notable targets in the New York area and in the northeast, and then hopefully causing such panic that it would create a state of emergency,” said Maddow.

Berlin’s key agent liaising with the Nazi-sympathizing congressmen was George Sylvester Viereck, who partnered with the Christian Front and other fascist groups to stage massive “America First” rallies with antisemitic content.

Born in Munich, Viereck met with Hitler in 1933. The next year, he addressed 20,000 pro-Nazi supporters at New York City’s Madison Garden, making comparisons between Hitler and Roosevelt.

Operating throughout the US, Viereck masterminded the mass mailings of Nazi-sympathetic speeches delivered in Congress. Content included defenses of Germany’s hostility toward Czechoslovakia and its conquest of Poland in 1939.

As authorities worked to unravel several ultra-right-wing conspiracies, antisemitism remained in the foreground.

In Brooklyn, 17 Christian Front members were indicted for stockpiling bombs and guns for use on Jewish targets. The local jury, however, had deep affection for the borough’s so-called “Brooklyn Boys,” and no one was convicted in that 1940 trial. Beginning in 1942, Jews in New York City and Boston “were attacked and beaten on the streets, in parks, with some victims stabbed or disfigured, and some girls having had their clothes ripped off,” said historian David Greenberg.

“Gangs robbed Jewish merchants, defiled synagogues and cemeteries, and committed other acts of vandalism. Jewish Girl Scout troops and other clubs had to stop meeting,” said Greenberg of the Christian Front’s campaign of assaults on Jews.

Back in Washington, antisemitism permeated the 1944 sedition trial even before proceedings began, when Judge Edward Eicher allowed potential jurors to be asked questions including their definition of “international bankers,” “Mongolian Jews,” and if they themselves were Jewish or had a Jewish relative.

“This is flummoxing in some ways,” said Maddow, who has said there are “strong similarities” between the seditious plots of “Ultra” and recent American history.

“For Judge Eicher to have allowed some of these questions specifically designed to keep Jews off the jury, and also to sort of push-pull the jury on being disinclined toward any Jewish perspective, is a remarkable thing. And indeed, there were no Jewish people on the jury,” said Maddow.

According to Time magazine, the proceedings were “the biggest and noisiest sedition trial in U.S. history.” The unexpected death of Judge Eicher in November 1944 forced a mistrial, and none of the co-conspirators faced justice.

“On the evening of the 102nd day, U.S. District Judge Edward Clayton Eicher, 65, went home, [and] died of a heart attack. No one in Washington doubted that a ludicrously undignified trial had hastened the death of a scrupulously dignified judge,” reported Time. Although none of the seditious officials faced punishment, the US media and pressure groups extensively investigated the interconnected plots, convincing voters to block nearly all of the co-conspirators from reelection. America First and the Christian Front dissolved after the Pearl Harbor attacks, hastened by the FBI’s belated action against pro-Nazi infrastructure throughout the country.

Carrying A Beard by Yerachmiel Tilles

http://ascentofsafed.com/cgi-bin/ascent.cgi?Name=1315-22

The time for the lighting of the candles is near. The city of Jerusalem is finishing the last preparations for the Shabbat. The latecomers hurry to immerse in the mikvah (ritual bath). People are running to find time for the last tasks. Suddenly the voice of the town crier is heard.

Every Jerusalemite is familiar with the phenomenon. When the crier passes by everyone listens intently. This time he doesn't announce a death (May we not experience misfortune); instead he called out information that affected the lives of all the residents.

"An important message from the Beit Din (Rabbinical Court)," he exclaimed loudly. "The Eruv[1] of our city is Pasul (faulty). The coming Shabbat it will be forbidden to carry in the city!"

It turned out that not long before Shabbat was to begin a defect was found in the Eruv which surrounds the city. There was no time before the entry of Shabbat to fix it.

The announcement immediately changed the regular patterns of behavior in the city. Those people who arranged kidushim quickly transferred all the equipment and edibles to the shul (synagogue). Seniors sent their grandchildren to shul to put their reading glasses by the place where they were accustomed to pray. Everyone carefully checked the pockets of their clothes to make sure they were completely empty, no handkerchief, folded note or box of tabak (tobacco for smelling) should be left in them.

Fathers explained what was happening to their children, although the smaller ones couldn't understand what the fuss was about.

A guest, the rabbi of an esteemed community in New York, who was visiting at the home of an acquaintance in Jerusalem, wasn't disturbed by the announcement. He was used to not carrying on Shabbat because outside of Israel many Jewish communities do not use or are unable to establish an Eruv.

He asked his host about the amazing sites that one can see in Jerusalem. His host advised him to first of all see the city at dusk, when the sun sets and Shabbat spreads her wings over the houses of the city.

After that, he suggested, the place to go is the "tisch' (table) of the "Beis Yisroel", Rabbi Yisrael Alter, the fifth Admor (Rebbe) of the Gurer dynasty. He promised him that whoever was present at such an occasion would never forget it.

The host came from a Chasidic family, but the changes in the world had influenced him away from a chasidic life style. He was clean shaven and wore modern clothes, although he still was a G-d fearing Jew who kept the mitzvot and the Torah.

He decided with his host that they would finish the Shabbat night meal quickly, thus enabling them to set out immediately to the Gurer beit midrash (synagogue/study hall) in the Geulah neighborhood, and find a place close to where the Rebbe sat.

After the lighting of the Shabbat candles the host and his guest walked to shul to pray Kabbalat Shabbat (the prayer greeting the Shabbat). From there they returned home to hurriedly eat the Shabbat evening meal. The host apologized that he cannot honor his guest as is usual on Shabbat, with words of Torah and songs, because they have to hasten to the beit midrash of the Beit Yisroel, so that the guest would be able to have this extraordinary experience.

Arriving at Ralbach Street they found the beit midrash crowded with people, despite its large size. It was not easy to make their way inside. They pushed themselves among the throng, trying to get to the rows closest to the Rebbe.

They didn't even consider finding a place to sit. They pushed in between the excited boys and young men and watched what was happening.

Even just standing wasn't simple. Here and there they would be shoved when more people tried to enter. They were willing though to suffer the discomfort with love as long as they could experience this special occasion.

Silence fell in the hall as the Rebbe entered. His routine was to scan those present with a penetrating glance, after which he would focus on a certain spot. Immediately a path would be formed in the midst of the crush of people through which the Rebbe would pass. Sometimes he would make a sharp remark to one of the people near where he walked.

That Shabbat evening the glance of the Rebbe went straight to the place where the two guests were standing, so the opening that formed left them standing exactly in the path of the Rebbe. The Rebbe paused close to the host and said to him directly, "Even if there is no Eruv, one is allowed to carry a beard!" (In Yiddish the word tragen, which means 'carrying,' is also the verb used for 'wearing' a beard.)

The Rebbe continued on, leaving the Jew in shock. He was trembling all over. The Rebbe doesn't know him, how does he know about his chasidic roots and the beard that he used to wear?

The Rebbe's words pierced his heart, and he accepted the rebuke with love. Nevertheless, seven years passed and he was still continuing with his same life style, including his outer appearance.

One Friday he felt a strong desire to go to the Gurer Rebbe's tisch once more. He decided to go that evening.

He finished the Shabbat meal quickly and hurried to find himself a place in the hall of the beit midrash. Again he 'merited' to receive some shoves from the crowd. Like everyone else, he waited in excited anticipation for the entrance of the Rebbe.

The noise and pushing ended the instant the Rebbe entered. His penetrating eyes immediately found the clean-shaven Jew. A path opened up instantly to where the Jew was standing. Upon reaching him, the Rebbe asked, "Did I hurt your feelings?"

Seven years had gone by. Thousands of Jews had come to see him, yet the Rebbe still remembered clearly this man and worried that he might have caused him pain!

This time the Rebbe didn't continue on his way. He didn't move from there till he heard the man say, embarrassed, that he wasn't insulted at all; he had accepted the rebuke with love and appreciation.

This encounter made an even deeper impression on him than the sharp remark from seven years ago. It didn't take long for him to return to the chasidic appearance of his youth. A full beard again adorned his face, till the end of his days.

Biographical note:
Rabbi Yisrael Alter of Ger (1894 - 2 Adar 1977), known as the Bais Yisroel, was the fourth Rebbe in the Gur dynasty. Following the death of his father in 1948, Ger grew under his leadership to be the largest chasidic group in Israel. He lost his wife, children and grandchildren in the Holocaust, and although he married a second time, had no further children. He was succeeded by his brother, Rabbi Simcha-Bunim Alter, and then his youngest brother, Rabbi Pinchas-Menachem Alter. (The son of the latter, Rabbi Yaakov Alter, is the current Rebbe.

Ed-Op by Rabbi Rachamim Pauli

Laura Ingraham brought down a story this week about AI (artificial intelligence). Two deans in MI wrote about the recent shooting to comfort the College Youth. They used ChatCPA but they forgot to edit the msg. These lazy Deans printed it out to show that AI wrote the message. I as who needs them.

When I took a course in Programming in Israel in 1971, I learned the importance of input (Hebrew Kellet) which influences the output (Pellet). In Engineering we had a saying Garbage in Garbage out. That is exactly what is happening with Google and other sources. We are at Orwell’s 1984.

It seems that Laura asked the program to write a poem about Joe Bidden. It was so well written it might have convinced you or I to vote for him in 2024. But it was based on information fed to it. Then she asked the program to write a poem about Donald J. Trump. Answer: “I do not have sufficient information.” This could go on and on. So much so that being lazy and depending on AI our minds could be controlled.

Proper use of AI put unbiased data in and find 200 targets of Hamas to strike
