When you move to other places and read the Dvar Torah there you get new ideas from your old knowledge. The leaflet was writing about looking for Yosef in the wrong place. You see when you think within the box with a wrong conception you get the wrong answer. For the brothers knew Yosef as a youth full of Chutzpa and a tattle-tale as well has very handsome. Regarding his handsomeness the following story from the Talmud appears: Rav Yochanan was attacked from behind by the gladiator Resh Lechesh while he was doing the Mikvah in the Yarden River as the gladiator thought he was a woman from behind. Upon seeing him to be a male he was taken aback. Rav Yochanan said that he was from Yosef and therefore the beauty. Rav Yochanan promised Resh Lechesh his sister if the gladiator would give up his fighting and use his energy in the Beis Medrash. He agreed and the two became the best of friends. Resh Lechesh would ask 24 questions and challenges to Rav Yochanan. Rav Yochanan was so powerful in Torah that once a student mocked him about angels on an island making stones for the third Beis HaMikdash upon seeing this he returned and said to Rav Yochanan that he took back his mockery and now he would learn. Rav Yochanan was so furious at this Chutzpa that he turned his eyes towards him a fire and the organs of the body lost their Divine Spark and turned into a pile of bones (something like the ending of Raiders of the lost Ark where the Nazis sort of melt).
Returning to Yosef the brothers figured that because of his beauty they figured that he was being used as a male prostitute so they looked into the filthy alleyways and nefarious places for him. However, they were barking up the wrong tree for Yosef was much better than this. They had always looked down at little Joe the young brother and not at Yosef the one to inherit Yitzchak and Yacov in righteousness. For you see in Gematria the name Yitzchak in Hebrew is 208 or 8 times the DIVINE NAME which is 26. Yacov in Gematria is182 or 7 times 26 and finally with the weakening of the generations is Yosef with 156 or 6 x 26. So they never saw this DIVINE ordination of Yosef as the foremost of them. Little Joe Avinu was low in their eyes.
There are two commentaries regarding Yosef one says that he was 17 and had no beard but he had Peyos (side locks as the spelling may not be written correctly) and therefore they did not recognize him with a beard and no Peyos and Egyptian makeup. It seems to me from hieroglyphics that just the opposite should be true that Yosef was shaven bald and no beard or Peyos at all and wearing instead of a modest Shepard’s coat the coat of royalty with a gold hat and gold breast plate. The man was humble and not a braggart and was straight forward. Yosef was the sneaky behind the back snitch for them. Therefore they were thinking within the preconceived notions and could not imagine that the dreams of the dreamer would come true. I was 20 years ago the first time and 22 years the second time that they came.
Yehuda takes responsibility for his actions. It was now time for measure for measure. Benyamin had no hand in the sale of his older brother Yosef whom he looked up to. Yehuda realized that according to the laws of Gilgul Neshamos that it was his turn to be a slave. Shimon the instigator was put in jail and now it was his turn to be a slave. Yehuda believed in THE TRUE JUDGE. HASHEM would never punish Benyamin for their sins and Yehuda was the one who suggested the sale. He had sown his harvest and now his had to reap what he sowed.
44:18 Then Judah came near unto him, and said: ‘Oh my lord, let thy servant, I pray thee, speak a word in my lord’s ears, and let not your anger burn against thy servant; for thou art even as Pharaoh.
Here today gone tomorrow today no man can lift his had in Egypt without you and tomorrow (in the future) a life dog or mouse will be better than you dead. Just as Pharaoh is here today, tomorrow he could be gone and another Pharaoh could arise who knew not Yosef or made like he did not know Yosef. (Perhaps the Dynasty changed)
19 My lord asked his servants, saying: Have ye a father, or a brother? 20 And we said unto my lord: We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loves him.
This time he said that Yosef is dead lest this ruler demand that Yosef appear. This is how Yacov perceived this for 22 years and the Shechina did not rest on him due to his perpetual mourning.
21 And thou said unto thy servants: Bring him down unto me, that I may set mine eyes upon him. 22 And we said unto my lord: The lad cannot leave his father; for if he should leave his father, his father would die.
If something happened to Benyamin it probably would kill the old man or he would lose complete interest in living.
23 And thou said unto thy servants: Except your youngest brother come down with you, ye shall see my face no more. 24 And it came to pass when we came up unto thy servant my father, we told him the words of my lord. 25 And our father said: Go again, buy us a little food. 26 And we said: We cannot go down; if our youngest brother be with us, then will we go down; for we may not see the man’s face, except our youngest brother be with us. 27 And thy servant my father said unto us: Ye know that my wife bore me two sons; 28 and the one went out from me, and I said: Surely he is torn in pieces; and I have not seen him since; 29 and if ye take this one also from me, and harm befall him, ye will bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave. 30 Now therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the lad is not with us; seeing that his soul is bound up with the lad’s soul; 31 it will come to pass, when he sees that the lad is not with us, that he will die; and thy servants will bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave. 32 For thy servant became surety for the lad unto my father, saying: If I bring him not unto thee, then shall I bear the blame to my father forever. 33 Now therefore, let thy servant, I pray thee, abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord; and let the lad go up with his brethren. 34 For how shall I go up to my father, if the lad be not with me? Lest I look upon the evil that shall come on my father.’
Yosef now wants to be alone with brothers and sees that Yehuda’s Teshuva for selling him is complete and it is now time to reveal Yosef. According to a Medrash I read he yells out something like this: Amod Amod Amod Yosef ben Yacov! And the brothers realize that Yosef works for this man as a slave or servant and therefore the behavior of the man. Nobody comes into the room. Then …
45:1 Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried: ‘Cause every man to go out from me.’ And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.
He showed them his circumcision which was a holy sign unto them and perhaps a birthmark. He also speaks to them in Hebrew and not Egyptian which Zaphenath-paneah spoke.
2 And he wept aloud; and the Egyptians heard, and the house of Pharaoh heard. 3 And Joseph said unto his brethren: ‘I am Joseph; doth my father yet live?’ And his brethren could not answer him; for they were affrighted at his presence.
This is a question and a rebuke. For Yosef tells them that if his father survived his loss why shouldn’t the old man survive Benyamin’s loss and they could not speak under this rebuke.
4 And Joseph said unto his brethren: ‘Come near to me, I pray you.’ And they came near. And he said: ‘I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. 5 And now be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither; for God did send me before you to preserve life.
From HASHEM are these circumstances it is wondrous in our eyes.
6 For these two years hath the famine been in the land; and there are yet five years, in which there shall be neither plowing nor harvest. 7 And God sent me before you to give you a remnant on the earth, and to save you alive for a great deliverance. 8 So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God; and He hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and ruler over all the land of Egypt. 9 Hasten ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him: Thus says thy son Joseph: God hath made me lord of all Egypt; come down unto me, tarry not. 10 And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near unto me, thou, and thy children, and thy children’s children, and thy flocks, and thy herds, and all that thou have;
Goshen is a rich fertile land fed from the Nile delta and at that time a branch of the river ran there as indicated from satellite photos. Since there are five more years of famine and drought there is no choice but to come here and rely upon me for sustenance.
11 and there will I sustain thee; for there are yet five years of famine; lest thou come to poverty, thou, and thy household, and all that thou have. 12 And, behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaks unto you.
He then brought Benyamin unto himself now look carefully at our facial features and your memory of my mother Rachel. And lo and behold sure enough they were the same but in the wrong concept they had been oblivious to this. This happens to politicians, lawyers, doctors and investors it takes a Newton or an Einstein to think out of the box. For Newton discovered the laws of gravity and Calculus (at the same time Leibnitz did but from a different perspective).
13 And ye shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that ye have seen; and ye shall hasten and bring down my father hither.’ 14 And he fell upon his brother Benjamin’s neck, and wept; and Benjamin wept upon his neck.
Now how is Yacov supposed to take this and believe this after mourning Yosef especially with the bloody coat for 22 years? All sorts of Medrashim on the crying on Benyamin’s shoulder – like he saw the destruction of two Temples and the mistress of Giva etc.
15 And he kissed all his brethren, and wept upon them; and after that his brethren talked with him. 16 And the report thereof was heard in Pharaoh’s house, saying: ‘Joseph’s brethren are come’; and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants.
Just like the later Pharaoh is afraid of the Bnei Yisrael in this case he is looking for more Yosef types among them. Levi for guiding the priestly people and the spiritual advancement of Pharaoh, Yehuda for the army, Zevulun for finance and Dan for a court system.
17 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph: ‘Say unto thy brethren: This do ye: lade your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of Canaan; 18 and take your father and your households, and come unto me; and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land. 19 Now thou art commanded, this do ye: take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come. 20 Also regard not your stuff; for the good things of all the land of Egypt are yours.’ 21 And the sons of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way. 22 To all of them he gave each man changes of raiment; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred shekels of silver, and five changes of raiment. \
This time the brothers were mature enough not to get jealous.
23 And to his father he sent in like manner ten asses laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten she-asses laden with corn and bread and victual for his father by the way. 24 So he sent his brethren away, and they departed; and he said unto them: ‘See that ye fall not out by the way.’ 25 And they went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan unto Jacob their father. 26 And they told him, saying: ‘Joseph is yet alive, and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt.’ And his heart fainted, for he believed them not.
Surely this cannot be as he had seen the bloody coat.
27 And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them; and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived. 28 And Israel said: ‘It is enough; Joseph my son is yet alive; I will go and see him before I die.’
The Pshat is that he saw the royal wagons for taking him down he realized that it must be true. The Drash is that he was learning Egal Arufa with Yosef (the calf that is used if some person is found dead near a town or in between two towns.) Now the Hebrew word for wagon is Agala so Egal a Agala are similar and he remembered the hint.
46:1 And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac. 2 And God spoke unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said: ‘Jacob, Jacob.’ And he said: ‘Here am I.’ 3 And He said: ‘I am God, the God of thy father; fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation. 4 I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again; and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.’
For all of the 22 years, Yacov was too depressed for the Shechina to rest upon him, now with a bit of joy returning to his life so did the Shechina.
5 And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba; and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. 6 And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him; 7 his sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt. … all the souls of the house of Jacob, that came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.
The Rabbis come up with the number 69 if Yosef is enclosed but never ever do they include Yacov in the count so perhaps Yacov is the 70th. The Medrash says Yocheved was born just around the gates of Egypt but since Moshe was born 130 years later this does not appear to me to be logical – then again miracles are beyond logic.
28 And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to show the way before him unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen. 29 And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen; and he presented himself unto him, and fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while. 30 And Israel said unto Joseph: ‘Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, that thou art yet alive.’ 31 And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house: ‘I will go up, and tell Pharaoh, and will say unto him: My brethren, and my father’s house, who were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me; 32 and the men are shepherds, for they have been keepers of cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have. 33 And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say: What is your occupation? 34 that ye shall say: Thy servants have been keepers of cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and our fathers; that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.’
He was in charge of setting up a Yeshiva and the housing projects to be built for the tribes.
47:1 Then Joseph went in and told Pharaoh, and said: ‘My father and my brethren, and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, are come out of the land of Canaan; and, behold, they are in the land of Goshen.’ 2 And from among his brethren he took five men, and presented them unto Pharaoh. 3 And Pharaoh said unto his brethren: ‘What is your occupation?’ And they said unto Pharaoh: ‘Thy servants are shepherds, both we, and our fathers.’ 4 And they said unto Pharaoh: ‘To sojourn in the land are we come; for there is no pasture for thy servants’ flocks; for the famine is sore in the land of Canaan. Now therefore, we pray thee, let thy servants dwell in the land of Goshen.’ 5 And Pharaoh spoke unto Joseph, saying: ‘Thy father and thy brethren are come unto thee; 6 the land of Egypt is before thee; in the best of the land make thy father and thy brethren to dwell; in the land of Goshen let them dwell. And if thou knowest any able men among them, then make them rulers over my cattle.’
No one is living today from the time of the 1880’s when Berlin was called the new Yerushalayim but we all know what happened. The same with Pharaoh at first.
7 And Joseph brought in Jacob his father, and set him before Pharaoh. And Jacob blessed Pharaoh. 8 And Pharaoh said unto Jacob: ‘How many are the days of the years of thy life?’ 9 And Jacob said unto Pharaoh: ‘The days of the years of my sojournings are a hundred and thirty years; few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their sojournings.’ 10 And Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from the presence of Pharaoh.
The Pharaoh was now a highly blessed person.
11 And Joseph placed his father and his brethren, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded. 12 And Joseph sustained his father, and his brethren, and all his father’s household, with bread, according to the want of their little ones. 13 And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan languished by reason of the famine. 14 And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they bought; and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house. …26 And Joseph made it a statute concerning the land of Egypt unto this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth; only the land of the priests alone became not Pharaoh’s.

Halachos from Danny Shoemann
Since one cannot light fire on Shabbat, on Friday the Menorah is lit before Shabbat. The correct order for Friday is:
- Daven "early" Mincha
- Light the Chanukah Menorah. One can light as early as 75 Halachic minutes before sunset.
- Light Shabbat candles at the regular time.
The Chanukah Menorah needs be stay lit until 30 minutes after dark.
On Friday one needs longer candles or more oil than during the week, since it needs to burn for 70 minutes or longer.

On Motzei Shabbat - the 4th night of Chanukah this year - one first makes Havdalah and then lights the Chanukah Menorah. In Schul the Menorah is lit after the full-Kaddish - before ויתן לך - on Motzei Shabbat. Source: Kitzur Shulchan Aruch 139:18
Some have the custom of lighting the Menorah before making Havdalah, since one already heard Havdalah in Schul. (Source: רמ"א 581:2) The Haphtarah this week is the Chanucha one (רני ושמחי from Zechariah 2:14). Each night of Chanukah one adds an extra light, starting at 1 and ending at 8. Besides for the nightly number, the custom is to add an extra candle each night - known as the Shamash. This is ensure that one doesn't accidentally use the light from the actual Chanukah lights, which is forbidden.
After the Chanukah Menorah has been burning for half an hour after nightfall, one may derive benefit from the lights of the Chanukah Menorah.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday is Rosh Chodesh Tevet. Rosh Chodesh Tevet is the only time the full-Hallel is said on Rosh Chodesh. (Usually on Rosh Chodesh we leave out 2 half-paragraphs.) Between Shacharis and Mussaf we will take out 2 Sifrei Torah. First we call up 3 people to the Torah for Rosh Chodesh and then - in the second Sefer Torah - a fourth person for Chanukah. We then Daven Mussaf for Rosh Chodesh, with Al HaNisim. Starting tonight - Monday night - don't forget Yaaleh VeYavo and Al HaNisim in the Amida and Birkas Hamazon. From R. A. L. - Q: Why did Joseph prepare his chariots himself?? As a ruler of Egypt, he could have his servants prepare it for him??
A: Joseph wanted to have the Mitzvah of honoring his Father, therefore, he prepared the chariot?? There are many tales of sages who served their parents themselves rather than letting their servants do it.
Q: Can one honor parents after they passed away?
A: Yes... By reciting the Kaddish and through performing Mitzvos, especially giving charity, in their honor.
Honoring parents is one of the greatest Mitzvos. It is unfortunately so much neglected in today's "I" society: (IMac, Iphone, IPod, IPad, etc....).
The following quotes from the Code of Jewish Law shows the extent one had to go to honor their parents.
"One must be extremely careful with the Mitvos of honoring parents, for the Torah compares their honor to honoring G-D."
"One must not sit on the seat generally reserved for one's Father or Mother. One must provide parents with food, drink and clothing, bring them home and take them out and provide them with all their needs cheerfully."
"If a son, dressed in costly garments, is presiding over a meeting and his Father or his Mother came and tore his garments, struck him on the head and spat in his face, he should neither insult them, nor show distress in their presence nor display anger toward them. He may, however, legally seek payment for the damage they have caused them."
"If one's Father or Mother is asleep and the key to the son's store lies under their pillow, he must not wake them, even if he will lose much profit as a result."
"One must rise in the presence of their Father or Mother."

It is with great sorrow that we heard that one of those killed was Raphael Alkali of Lapid. His daughter Shira is a fourth grade student in the School. Their son Ori also studied in the mamad and is now in the eighth grade in Chorev. On Friday, the fourth grade girls of the school were gathered together to talk with the guidance counselor , their teacher and the school psychologist. Warden Rafi Alkalai, 54, of Lapid, is survived by his wife and five children. He served at the “Nir” school as a commander of the Officers' Course. He was laid to rest at Jerusalem's military cemetery at Mt. Herzl. THE JONATHAN POLLARD CONUNDRUM by Emanuel A. Winston, Middle East Analyst & Commentator
On the first day that Jonathan Pollard was ejected from the Israeli Embassy in Washington (where he sought sanctuary) on orders from then Foreign Minister Shimon Peres to now Supreme Court Justice Elyakim Rubinstein, I smelled a rat. (In fact, I smelled lots of rats!) That day the FBI arrested him at the gates of the Israeli Embassy, I wrote and published the first of a series of lengthy articles about Jonathan, "The American Shadow Government" and WMD (perhaps more than 60 over time - and, Yes, I believe I coined the phrase "Shadow Government" which many writers have since found useful).
It wasn’t that Pollard hadn’t broken a law because he had. As an analyst for U.S. Naval Intelligence he had signed an agreement to hold confidential all he saw. However, it was clear from the first that then Secretary Of Defense Casper Weinberger and Admiral Bobby Ray Inman had themselves broken a series of M.O.U.s (Memorandums of Understanding) with Israel which had been signed by numerous Presidents that America would exchange vital Intel with Israel and Israel would do the same. Israel did share their valuable Intel but, under Weinberger/Inman, America squelched critical Intel regarding Arab/Muslim weapons capabilities - especially WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) such as NBC (Nuclear, Biological and Chemical). Weinberger and some of his associates in America’s 16 Intel Agencies decided that "They knew best" on how to run the nation and slyly broke those Presidential Agreements for the sake of cohabiting with the Saudis and other Arab and Muslim oil nations - which included Syria.
A few days ago the most unlikely newspaper (The New York Times) acquired a 600 page report on how the CIA and other US institutions conspired with the Nazis before, during and after WW2 to bring many of the Nazi war criminals into America as U.S. citizens. In brief, this was an Intel "Shadow Government" collaborating with Nazis and insuring that neither Congress nor the American people learned of this secret betrayal of America and the Jews of Europe. Apparently, the betrayal has never ceased but merely transferred its collaboration from the Nations to the Muslim Arabs (who also collaborated with the Nazis during WW2). So, what does this have to do with Pollard’s extraordinary imprisonment of 25 years?
Pollard broke into this chain of scheming to subvert the Jewish State of Israel. The conspiracy by U.S. Secretary of Defense Weinberger planning to shield nations like Iraq under Saddam Hussein who produced and used poison gas and other unconventional weapons from being revealed to Israel. They are a clear and present danger to America and to her stalwart ally, Israel. When Jonathan Pollard told the Israelis that Iraq was building chemical weapons and poison gas which Saddam used against his own people, Israel manufactured enough gas masks for the entire Israeli population - including the Arabs living in Israel. And Israel invented the baby tents and hoods with ventilating fans for children.
Here I include most Arab and Muslim countries such as Egypt, Iran, Syria, Libya, ‘et al. But, weren’t America’s Intel Agencies and the U.S. State Department commanded by numerous Presidents via their M.O.U.s? This meant that an illegal "Shadow Government" was operating out of Washington to break official written agreements of the American Government.
Doesn’t that put them in the same category as ‘traitors or subversives seeking to overthrow the democratically-elected American Government under the U.S. Constitution? Which means that Jonathan Pollard is a true patriot! Pollard not only stumbled across their nefarious scheme but, came to know the names of Government officials at America’s top echelon. He also found that some American Intel Agencies behaved as traitors to the American Government.
Here we can add the U.S. State Department, later dubbed "The Arabist State Department" for colluding with this "Shadow Government" - all of whom were appointed, not voted into office. They were all guilty of subverting the legally elected American Government under U.S. Constitutional Law. But, they were clever traitors - always ready to claim that they were working for America’s National Interests. Moreover, when it came to a public challenge in Federal Court, they claimed that if such secret information were revealed, it could damage National Security and, thus, they could not be called to testify. It is not the first time that dishonest politicians wrapped themselves in the flag.
Do you remember during the Iran-Contra Congressional Hearings, wherein such men as then Vice-President George Herbert Walker Bush and Secretary of Defense Casper Weinberger claimed immunity and would not testify? Colonel Oliver North was ready to testify fully but, they shut him down. These crucial, seldom mentioned details of who did what to whom, cause-and-effect, etc., may demonstrate the obstacles to overcome or else Jonathan Pollard may not be released by those currently protecting these miscreants, lest he name the culprits in the "Shadow Government" of 25 years ago.
He exposed their deeds of shipping weapons to Terrorist countries and groups, and that they used Intelligence gathered (supposedly for the benefit of America and Allies like Israel) to transfer American secrets to Arab Islamists. Think about the transfer of technology of America’s most devastating weapons to Arab and Muslim nations who actually hated America and all Western Democratic nations - especially Israel.
Should all this be revealed, the Government of America would be forced to empty the State Department and 16 Intel Agencies of all those known to have complied with these traitorous acts. They should be tried and, if found guilty, sent straight to solitary confinement in Federal Prison (as they did to Pollard). Here I might include a few Presidents who were deep into the betrayal of America and their stalwart Ally, the Jewish Nation/State of Israel which they had sworn to protect.
Then there are the people who wish to keep Jonathan Pollard in prison until he dies. (G-d forbid!!!) If perchance, by some miracle, he is released to time-served, be assured they would immediately try to assassinate him to insure his permanent silence and their own safety. Only by acknowledging and understanding these dire suppositions, can we prevent that from happening.
Jonathan Pollard may have broken an agreement to hold confidential what he saw but, that agreement was first cruelly broken when Weinberger and Inman vowed retribution for Israel’s bombing of Iraq’s Osirak Nuclear Reactor just before it was operational. Weinberger and Inman with malicious intent, tainted the M.O.U.s issued by Presidents and ratified by Congress. Strangely, it was Pollard himself who upheld both the spirit and legal intent of the M.O.U.s. Pollard should be given a medal for upholding both the Law and the Honor of the American Government by exposing those subverting America’s commitment to her Allies.
Indeed, it is way past time for U.S. Congressional Hearings and Grand Jury investigations on the abrogations of the M.O.U.s by persons undermining the American Constitution in the form of an illegal "Shadow Government". Above all, allow Pollard to be free and allowed to freely testify to Congress and name the names he uncovered, for the sake of justice and before the traitors have the opportunity to kill him.
Clearly, there are heroes and patriots in the American Intel Agencies who often risk their lives in defense of America. But sadly, there are also those on a short leash to the politicians who have no trouble cutting under-the-table deals within the framework of an illegal "Shadow Government" who believe they know best how to run the country.
Isn’t it past time for America to put honor, ethics and patriotism back into her Government?

Israeli firefighters, volunteers, police, IDF, ‘et al’ have been bravely and valiantly fighting these raging blazes to exhaustion. Bibi praised them for their "divine heroism". Scores of families - including in the ‘settlements’, have opened their homes to families evacuated or burned out of their own homes.
All 41 victims of the fire were identified over the weekend, and the names of 39 of the victims had been released by Saturday night. The youngest victim was Elad Rivan, a 16 year old student from Haifa, who had volunteered to help firefighters. Elad appeared for duty on Thursday, and was killed as he was working with a firefighting crew from Afula that was trapped by spreading flames. Ten of the victims were buried Friday, and another five funerals are so far scheduled for Sunday.
The Muslim Arabs have been burning fields and forests in Israel for a long time and little has been done about it. Some may have forgotten the huge Jerusalem corridor fire on Route 1 which devastated the forests - most of which had been planted years ago by JNF (Jewish National Fund-Keren Kayemet) with donations from Jews into their little blue box for decades.
When this fire started, it ‘miraculously’ ignited in four different spots at the same time. But, then Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin issued statements to the effect that "it was an unfortunate accident". He never blamed Arab Muslim Terrorists because his policy for Israel was to pacify and appease both the Arabs/Muslims and the American State Department.

Most clearly, someone willing to commit murder by fire deserves being tried for a capital crime with the penalty to be summary execution when caught in the act.
Some may recall the massive fires in the Jerusalem corridor forests along Route One between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv as well in the Carmel forests near Haifa.
Then Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin said - ‘it wasn’t arson but merely an "accident" ’ – despite the observable fact that four fires were started at the same time.
Between Rabin in his time and the Israeli Police protecting the Muslim Arab arsonists of today, Israel’s forests are at risk of disappearing – along with the people who died by their fires. This brings a new meaning to the obnoxious concept of "ethnic cleansing" by removing Jews from their ancient homeland.
Consider these acts of "ethnic burning" of Jewish trees as comparable to the Arab Muslims taking over lands owned by the JNF (Jewish National Fund) which bought most of the Israel State owned land with contributions by Jews in their little blue-and-white "pushkes" (boxes)."

The token arrest: Police arrested 2 teenage brothers from Ustiya, aged 14 and 16, ‘suspected’ of starting the blaze by failing to douse a bonfire. They’re suspected of ‘criminal negligence rather than deliberate arson. HOWEVER, ARSON IS SUSPECTED AT SEVERAL OTHER POINT WHERE FIRES HAVE ERUPTED SINCE THE INITIAL BLAZE TOOK HOLD!
Regrettably, the incompetent leadership that followed the Rabin blunders and excuses of ‘accidental’ fires repeats itself by various Israeli governments appointing weak, incompetent political hacks who needed a job to important posts like Fire Prevention and Fighting - or Desalination Plants (Ben Eliezer) especially now during a 7 year drought of Biblical proportions.
Retired generals who were PC (Politically Correct) and loyal to the party were often rewarded with big jobs, despite their ignorance of the field.
Israel should have procured or converted some of its own aircraft for fire fighting after the Jerusalem Corridor conflagration.
Why is serious public service a magnet for some of the most stupid of our people?
Like Rabin, Netanyahu, in deference to his pacifistic policies modeled on American orders will, no doubt, find the coordinated ‘accidental/spontaneous’ fires merely a ‘coincidence and NOT an act of Terror.
But, the Arab/Muslims are enjoying it, singing, passing out candy while they dance in the street.

Many Arabs also strongly condemned Egypt and Jordan for agreeing to help in extinguishing the blaze, according to Arab media outlets.
Many in the Arab world seem to be happy with the big fire that has been raging in northern Israel over the past few days.
Judging from comments on the blaze from readers in several leading Arab media outlets and websites, a majority believe that God is "punishing" Israel for occupying Arab lands and killing Palestinians, especially during Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip.

Many Arabs also strongly condemned Egypt and Jordan for agreeing to help in extinguishing the blaze.
Others called on Israel’s enemies, particularly Iran, Hamas and Hezb’Allah, to seize the opportunity and try to wipe Israel off the face of earth. Only a few readers and viewers expressed sympathy with Israel over the tragedy and loss of many lives.

Now for last week’s Good Shabbos Story “Happy Chanucha” thanks to Mathis Wolfberg.
Good Shabbos Everyone. Part of the miracle of the Chanukah account is that the Maccabees found one container of oil in the Beis Hamikdash (Holy Temple in Jerusalem) which the Greeks had not contaminated. This hints perhaps to the concept of the "Pintele Yid" - every Jew has within him a Jewish soul, the essence of a Jew. This essence remains intact in the Jewish heart no matter how far it strays from the Jewish nation...
During the Holocaust, a large group of Polish women were rounded up to be sent to the gas chambers. As the group gathered their possessions to take with them into the camp the evil Nazi officers called out to all the villagers who were standing by watching, “Anything that these Jews leave behind you may take for yourselves, because for sure they will not be coming back to collect them!”
Two Polish women who were standing nearby saw a woman towards the back of the group, wearing a large, heavy, expensive coat. Not wanting to wait to see if others got the coat before them, they ran to the woman and knocked her to the ground, grabbing her coat and walked away.
As the Jewish women were being led away, these two Polish women lay down the coat to divide the spoils of what was hiding inside. As they rummaged through the pockets, they discovered gold jewelry, silver candlesticks and other heirlooms, but still, as they lifted the coat it seemed heavier than it should be.
After further inspection they found a secret pocket, and hidden inside the coat was a little baby girl. Shocked at their discovery, one of the women insisted to the other, saying “I don’t have any children, and I’m too old to have now. You take all the gold and silver and let me take the baby”.
The deal was agreed and the Polish woman took her new ‘daughter’ home to her delighted husband . They raised the Jewish girl as their own, treating her very well, but never told her anything of her history. The girl excelled in her studies and became a successful pediatrician, working in the top hospital in Poland.
After some years the girl’s ‘mother’ passed away. A week after, she received a knock at the door. An old woman invited herself in and said “I want you to know that the woman that passed away last week was not your real mother...” and she proceeded to tell her the whole story.
The girl did not believe her at first but the old woman said to her “When we found you, you were wearing a beautiful gold pendant with strange writing on it which must be Hebrew, I am sure that your mother kept the necklace, go and look” and with that parting advice she left. The girl went into her ‘mother’s’ jewelry box and found the necklace just as the woman described. She had it extended and wore it every day, but thought nothing more of her Jewish roots.
Sometime later, she went on holiday abroad and saw two Lubavitch boys. Seizing the opportunity she told them entire story and showed them the necklace. The boys confirmed that a Jewish name was inscribed on the necklace but did not know what to say about her status. They recommended that she send a letter to the Lubavitcher Rebbe explaining everything. She sent off the letter and received a speedy reply saying that it is clear from the facts that she is a Jewish girl and since she had a special talent, she should use her invaluable skills in Israel, a place in desperate need of talented pediatricians.
She took the Rebbe’s advice and moved to Israel where she approached a Beis Din who declared her Jewish. She was accepted into a hospital to work, and she met her husband and raised a family. Some years later...
When there was a terrorist attack at the Sbarro cafe in the centre of Jerusalem in August 2001, this woman was walking nearby with her husband. When she heard of the blast, she told her husband to return home to the kids and she proceeded to rush to the scene where she treated the wounded and helped the injured to hospital.
When she arrived at the hospital she met an elderly man who was in a state of shock. He was searching everywhere for his granddaughter who had become separated from him. She calmed him down and went with him to search amongst all the patients in order to find his granddaughter. Asking how she could recognize her, the frantic grandfather gave a rough description of a gold pendant necklace that she was wearing.
After searching amongst the injured, they finally found the granddaughter who was wearing the necklace. At the sight of this necklace, the pediatrician froze. She turned to the old man and said “where did you buy this necklace from?”
“You can’t buy such a necklace” he responded, “I am a goldsmith and I made this necklace. Actually I made two identical ones for each of my daughters. This is my granddaughter from one of them, and my other daughter did not survive the war” ...And this is how the Jewish Polish girl was reunited with her father!
