It is not my habit to make appeals even for
my broke Kollel. However, this is a life or death matter of a woman raising
young children. She is looking more for the cancer pills than the monetary
donation:

Dearest friends and family -
One of my very close friends is in
desperate search for Ibrance pills for breast cancer, the only treatment that
has helped her so far.
Some amazing women around the world
have donated some but only for two more months.
Perhaps you could post this on your
e-mails or your rabbis can announce the need for this drug from the pulpit.
Each bottle costs about $10,000,
but many women have gone on and off this treatment so we are trying to find
them.
Only in American cancer support
groups did my friend and her husband get responses that donating unused
medicines is illegal etc. but we are talking about life and death and thousands
of dollars of life-saving drugs that may otherwise go into the garbage.
Esther adopted 5 children, she is
now raising one of her grandchildren and is very central in her entire family’s
lives, as you can imagine.
She is an amazing, positive human
being who refuses to succumb to her circumstances, is incredibly active and
continues to surprise and inspire her doctors and all of us.

Ibrance that he had obtained from a former patient.
Unfortunately, Ibrance is not one of the cancer drugs supplied on the health plan in Israel and my oncologist hoped to use the three month period to assess its effectiveness on me and to try to acquire more of the drug from Pfizer on compassionate grounds.

6-7,000,000 vs 24,000 vs 84. I have a friend
who is a Ger Tzeddek and for years this Parsha has bothered him. For he joined
our people and figured that we are more moral than that other nations. However,
the killing of Midian here except for the girls under three which were
incorporated into Judaism.
In fact, every attempt which I have done over
the years to answer him has been considered insufficient by him. I have an
answer here which perhaps is more satisfying to myself. The Nazis murdered 6 to
7,000,000 Jews which were numbers too large to imagine. One can sort of imagine
a photo of 1,000,000 attending a Papal Event in Rome but 6 or 7 times that is
too big. I think I have the proportion now. When 84 were killed by a madman in
Nice France we can comprehend that. Well 24,000 died in the plague caused by
the advice of Bilaam how to mess up our nation with immorality and idolatry. It
was for these 24,000 that 12,000 soldiers went to fight Midian and destroy
them. If 12,000 soldiers were called up that means that the nation was as small
or smaller than the 24,000 who perished. Still this was the normal protocols of
war for that era which was kill the men and take capture the women. (Our
problem today is that ISIS is still back in that era of civilization.)
The initial response that I heard after the
84 were killed and later ISIS did claim responsibility was that we should
carpet bomb them. That was for 84 not 24,000 so actually when HASHEM commands
Moshe to do this it is not surprising at all. I know that killing all the males
and females who knew men is brutal by today’s standards but when we look at it
coming as an order from the creator of all souls the destruction is not as
great as it appears.
The plague will never reoccur from this
bunch. Yacov Frank, the false Moshiach, will try this and then convert to
Christianity but the seeds for Reform Judaism and Atheism have been planted and
to this day have not been uprooted.
Pinchas became the Cohain Gadol after Eleazar and that his seed would last forever no matter what.

I suggest you look at past issues a few years ago of the blogspot where I went into the fact that Zimri had a reincarnation into Rabbi Akiva and Cozbi into Rachel, his wife. He gave up everything for Torah and she went against her father so that she could marry Akiva and send him to Kollel.

It is well known that Meir Lansky pulled off Mafia connections
to get airplanes and weapons to the State of Israel past the State Department
Boycott of being fair and square. Little is known of “Lucky” Luciano aka
Charles or Salvatore helping the US win Italy. It was during WWII that he made
a secret deal via Naval Intelligence to help the USA in Italy and that
eventually won him a get out of jail free.
During the War there were some Yeshiva Boys in Italy who were
about to be deported to Siberia. Rabbi Aharon Kotler wanted to help them remain
in a free country and a place to learn. He had no friend in the State Dept. and
the White House was not particularly friendly to either Orthodox or
non-Orthodox Jews. He had no choice but to turn to the Mafia. He asked Luciano
if he could help and for how much. Luciano considered it an honor being the
best friend of Meir Lansky. He said to the Rabbi considerate it done.
Now within a short time. Luciano succeeded in freeing and
transporting to safety the Yeshiva Boys. He then made a request of Rabbi Aharon
Kotler. He asked for a blessing. Now there is a Jewish law against flattering
and praising a wicked person. So Aharon Kotler could not very well praise the
person from the Mafia according to Halacha. After the boys arrived in the
Lakewood Yeshiva, Luciano came to the Rabbi asking for a blessing. The Rabbi
was in a quandary what to do. He gave Luciano the blessing that he would die
peacefully in his bed. Being from the Mafia with all the attempts of bumping
people off, he was very happy. Luciano passed away in his bed from a heart
attack at the age of 65.
He passed away in 1962 and later that same year Aharon Kotler
passed away. One day a limousine drove up to the Lakewood Yeshiva. A number of
Luciano’s children (it most likely would be grandchildren as to the best of the
knowledge of M. Lansky’s cousin he only had a daughter)/colleagues came for the
same blessing and were willing to donate to Rabbi Shmuel Kotler a large sum of
money. Rabbi Shmuel said to them simply that he was not a great Rabbi like his
father and did not have the power to issue such a blessing.
My friend, Lenny, aka Avraham Arieh is still waiting for my
continuation of my return to Judaism Story and my Yeshiva days which I had
skipped over at this point for finding a Shidduch where I left off with 9-and-a-half-year-old
girls sitting on my lap and me turning colors while my Yeshiva friend (now
Rabbi) David Rudnick was laughing his head off.
