I’m angry, very angry at myself
Do you ever feel that way? Sometimes, albeit not fully my/your
fault but circumstances make me/you fail to live up to my/your own goals. It
could be missing a birthday of a relative or friend, or a goal or not listening
to my gut and buying the wrong stock or hiring a poor electrician or plumber.
Sometimes, we think we are young supermen and can do anything,
Other times we are lucky and study a cram sheet on a Shakespearian Play and get
100% on the test because we could not learn for it. Such a thing happened to my
friend Dov Lebovitz in the Soviet Ukraine. At that time he was busy attending
the famous Bratzlev Chassid who was protected from the Gestapo by Nazis, lived
to 108 and create the Na Nach song.
Dov was worried and angry at himself. He had cut a lot of classes
to assist the famous Tzadik and now was the final. He had studied one subject
out of many in the class. The Rabbi assured him that everything would be OK.
The day of the final exam came. The Teacher/Professor announced
that the final was based on one question picked at random to write and explain
the subject. Dov went to the desk and picked up the question. It was on the one
subject that he had learned. He received a very good grade.

With the exception
of a few times my wife and I took a cruise, I have not missed a weekly Parsha.
I had three bouts with pneumonia, colds, three operations in various hospitals
even a few days in the hospital beyond that and I have not missed a Blogspot
Parsha.
But now a strong
cold with lack of sleep from coughing and sneezing has defeated me.

I will have a double Parsha. The birth and order of the birth of the tribes are
too important to skip.
Neither do I want to
repeat something I wrote 10years ago or do a slob job on the Parsha. I strive
for quality.
