Parsha Beresheis

Each year on Simchas Torah, we complete and renew the Torah Reading. If you are reading the same words and not learning something new then you are muttering words but not concentrating on the meaning. I have been writing the Parshiyos about 18 years or more now. Each year there is something new that I learn and something new that I write. Not on every Pasuk but many Pasukim.

1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

The whole book of Genesis was unnecessary for Judaism according to Rav Yitzchaki the father of Rashi. It was only there to proclaim that G-D created the earth and HE gave the land to each nation and what was once Canaan, he gave to Am Yisrael.

2 Now the earth was unformed and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters.

The whole creation process of the Big Bang actually starts with the next Pasuk but the creation of heaven and earth and the waters were already in the mind of G-D as part of HIS plan for creation.

3 And God said: 'Let there be light.' And there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

According to Professor Steven Weinberg “The first three minutes” the Universe from the initial big bang was several light years wide all the more so a 24hour day. So when somebody says the world took more than 6 days to create take it with a grain of salt.

6 And God said: 'Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.' 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

The primeval earth was initial hot from the Big Bang. On the second day the gases and steam condensed into water.

9 And God said: 'Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear.' And it was so.

Deep down in the bowels of the earth there are rocks that hold water as I wrote in past years. Water World turned into places with dry land.

10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters called He Seas; and God saw that it was good. 11 And God said: 'Let the earth put forth grass, herb yielding seed, and fruit-tree bearing fruit after its kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth.' And it was so.

Of the 4 forms of “life” or vibration was at first the inanimate world and now the plant world was created. It would take a while until the animal and talking life would be created.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree bearing fruit, wherein is the seed thereof, after its kind; and God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.

The third day concluded with twice good.

14 And God said: 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth.' And it was so.

The clouds dissipated enough on the 4th day that the constellations were visible and the earth was captured by the son and the moon by the earth.

16 And God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night; and the stars. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

A whole creation with Thuban or Alpha Draco in the Dragon in the North was the Polar Star. (Sefer Yetzirah) 3851 years ago, Thuban was the North Star. The 12 Constellations and 7 main moving heavenly bodies acted as a computer for Mazel for those who are not G-D fearing but those like Avram can move above the Mazel by becoming Avraham as in Parsha Lech Lecha.

20 And God said: 'Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let fowl fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.' 21 And God created the great sea-monsters, and every living creature that creeps, wherewith the waters swarmed, after its kind, and every winged fowl after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

Amphibians, Retiles, Insects, worms and Birds are created to live on this land and fish, crabs, muscles etc., coral and more are created on the 5th day.

22 And God blessed them, saying: 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.' 23 And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

They were created in pairs and could give birth many times during the primeval day.

24 And God said: 'Let the earth bring forth the living creature after its kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after its kind.' And it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth after its kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps upon the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

Mammals, small ones like mice, and other like rats that are considered creeping or Shratzim.

26 And God said: 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.' 27 And God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.

The talker was created that could rule over the world and create things like G-D using the elements of nature.

28 And God blessed them; and God said unto them: 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that creeps upon the earth.'

Man was the ruler of the world.

29 And God said: 'Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed--to you it shall be for food; 30 and to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is a living soul, [I have given] every green herb for food.' And it was so.

Even animals that are purely carnivorous could be nourished by plants, fruits, berries, similar to man and bears.

31 And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

The sixth day was both good and very good. Mankind was the conclusion of all new creation.

2:1 And the heaven and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God finished His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.

Everything that was new and needed to be created was finished. Only rest had not been created. So G-D blessed Shabbos with no Melacha.

3 And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it He rested from all His work which God in creating had made.

The first for words of this section for Shabbos stars with Yud, the second and fourth word with Hay and the third word Vav. The section ends in three words which end in Aleph, Mem and Tav or witness that HASHEM Emmes so when we say this for Kiddush we stand as witness that the L-RD is Truth. Then before the wine except during Sukkos, we sit down for the rest. Shabbos was the cream of the cream of Creation.

4 These are the generations of the heaven and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made earth and heaven. 5 No shrub of the field was yet in the earth, and no herb of the field had yet sprung up; for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground; 6 but there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

The world was watered by a mist and dew.

7 Then the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

The animals have Nefesh, Ruach and Neshama but man was breathed in Chaya and if earned via Mitzvos Yechida. What was breathed into Adam was Chaya and in his case in Gan Eden Yechida.

8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward, in Eden; and there He put the man whom He had formed. 9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. 10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became four heads. 11 The name of the first is Pishon; that is it which compasses the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; 12 and the gold of that land is good; there is bdellium and the onyx stone.

Rashi: Pishon: This is the Nile, the river of Egypt, and because its waters are blessed, and they rise and water the land, it is called Pishon, like Habakkuk 1:8):“and their riders shall increase (וּפָשׁוּ) .” (Unknown midrash, quoted by Zeror Hamor, below 41:1, Letters of Rabbi Akiva). Another explanation: [It is called] Pishon because it causes flax (פִשְׁתָן) to grow, as is stated in reference to Egypt (Isa. 19:9):“And those who work at flax (פִּשְׁתִּים)…shall be ashamed” (Gen. Rabbah 16:2).

13 And the name of the second river is Gihon; the same is it that compasses the whole land of Cush.

Gihon: [It is named thus because] it flowed and roared, and its roaring was very great, like (Exod. 21: 28):“If an [ox] gore (יִגַח),” for he gores and goes along and roars.

This appears to me to be the Congo.

14 And the name of the third river is Tigris; that is it which goes toward the east of Asshur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

This places Gan Eden between Iraq though Africa. Adam and Chava had a wide range where they could travel and the fish, birds, animals all got their names from them. All this and the birth of Kayn and Hevel and sisters in a matter of hours before Shabbos.

Cush and Assyria: These did not exist as yet, and Scripture wrote [their names] based on [the fact that they will exist in] the future. — [from Ketuvos 10b]

15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

The Medrash has man of great height and great strides or the ability to transport himself around Gan Eden and the vast distances involved.

16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying: 'Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the day that thou eat thereof thou shalt surely die.'

Fortunately, “A day in the sight of the L-RD is 1,000 years” – Tehillim 90:4.

18 And the LORD God said: 'It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him.' 19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto the man to see what he would call them; and whatsoever the man would call every living creature, that was to be the name thereof. 20 And the man gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a help meet for him. 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the place with flesh instead thereof. 22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from the man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And the man said: 'This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.'

The Rabbis in the Medrash could not decide if Adam and Chava were created back to back or Siamese Twins and separated. Even with the X and Y chromosomes know today it still could be so. We have no tradition which was the case. Couples married 40, 50 or more years being feeling as if they are joined at the hip depending upon one another.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh. 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

They were happy and innocent like children.

3:1 Now the serpent was subtler than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman: 'Yea, hath God said: Ye shall not eat of any tree of the garden?' 2 And the woman said unto the serpent: 'Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said: Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.'

G-D never mentioned touching and this was Adam’s mistake in adding a Chumra where there should not have been and the serpent knew this.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman: 'Ye shall not surely die;

The communication was either understood or telepathic.

5 for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as God, knowing good and evil.'

How did the serpent know this? Was it because he was created on the 5th day that he heard all the various talk between G-D and the attributes and angels on the 6th? Was this a real serpent or an Angel [aka the Tempter]? The snake wanted her and wanted that she should give the fruit to Adam and he would eat it and die per the Medrash.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat; and she gave also unto her husband with her, and he did eat.

She tricked him or was whimsical that he ate of the fruit. According to the Medrash the fruit is unknown in our tradition. One Rabbi says it was a fig for they used the leaves of figs to cover themselves. Another says it was an Esrog. Now where did the Goyim get the idea of an apple? Ancient Greece had a cute and subliminally violent way (depending on how you look at it) of proposing to someone. That someone being their loved one!

7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig-leaves together, and made themselves girdles.

But worse than that according to the Medrash they gave the deadly fruit to all the animals, birds and fish.

8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden toward the cool of the day; and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

Voice walking appears that they had some spiritual and dimensional connection with HASHEM.

9 And the LORD God called unto the man, and said unto him: 'Where art thou?'

As if he did not know. Like I played hide and seek with my grandchildren and could see the grandchild hiding under the table or his leg behind the couch and I pretended not to know and almost get there and hear his/their laughter.

10 And he said: 'I heard Thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.' 11 And He said: 'Who told thee that thou were naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?'

Oh-oh, G-D has found him out.

12 And the man said: 'The woman whom Thou gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.' 13 And the LORD God said unto the woman: 'What is this thou hast done?' And the woman said: 'The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.'

This is the first record of passing the blame and trying to wiggle out of responsibility. I wonder what would have happened if Adam had said, “I was wrong, I have sinned or heavenly father forgive for I have failed you!”

14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent: 'Because thou hast done this, cursed art thou from among all cattle, and from among all beasts of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life. 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; they shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise their heel.'

Still there are people today who like snakes and keep them for pets something that goes against this and I wonder if they have been trapped by the Satan.

16 Unto the woman He said: 'I will greatly multiply thy pain and thy travail; in pain thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.'

You will labor to give birth not as with Kayn & twin or Hevel and his two sisters. This indicates complete equality upon men and women and after this some inferiority complex given to the woman.

17 And unto Adam He said: 'Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying: Thou shalt not eat of it; cursed is the ground for thy sake; in toil shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life.

Now you will not have a heavenly supply but have to work for food.

18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field. 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it were thou taken; for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.'

Now you will have thorns and weeds in your way and injure yourself but also you shall die and return to be dust instead of living forever.

20 And the man called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. 21 And the LORD God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins, and clothed them. 22 And the LORD God said: 'Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil; and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever.'

Had he eaten from the tree of life, he would have lived forever regenerating cells and limbs like a salamander can (not the salamander of today can live forever).

23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. 24 So He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden the cherubim, and the flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way to the tree of life.

Man must have been at that time a multi-dimensional creature and lost that ability.

4:1  And the man knew Eve his wife; and she conceived and bore Cain, and said: 'I have gotten a man with the help of the LORD.' 2 And again she bore his brother Abel.

Per the Medrash this occurred on the first day without pain after each intercourse before they ate the fruit.

And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. 4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering; 5 but unto Cain and to his offering He had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

Kayn offered inferior fruit – not the largest and nicest looking. Hevel brought the largest and fattest first-born animals of his flock.

6 And the LORD said unto Cain: 'Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou do well, shall it not be lifted up? and if thou do not well, sin couches at the door; and unto thee is its desire, but thou mayest rule over it.' 8 And Cain spoke unto Abel his brother. And it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

According to the Medrash, he might not have had the intention of murdering his brother but just to cause hurt but the result was in Hevel’s death.

9 And the LORD said unto Cain: 'Where is Abel thy brother?' And he said: 'I know not; am I my brother's keeper?'

Similar to his father saying “We are naked” so here too trying to get out of something bad he did.

10 And He said: 'What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood cries unto Me from the ground. 11 And now cursed art thou from the ground, which has opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand. 12 When thou till the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a wanderer shalt thou be in the earth.'

Still the ground produced products than enabled people to live almost 1,000 years without aging. But this was prior to the flood and the changes that would occur.

13 And Cain said unto the LORD: 'My punishment is greater than I can bear. 14 Behold, Thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the land; and from Thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth; and it will come to pass, that whosoever finds me will slay me.' 15 And the LORD said unto him: 'Therefore whosoever slays Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold.' And the LORD set a sign for Cain, lest any finding him should smite him. 16 And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. 17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bore Enoch; and he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son Enoch.

It appears that we are missing information here if Kayn and Hevel too hand children in Gan Eden? Or after Gan Eden and I did not have time this week to reread the Medrash or Zohar on this section.

Skipping the seven generations after Kayn and the invention of musical instruments and skills in metals and weapons and the death of Kayn by accident.

… 25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bore a son, and called his name Seth: 'for God hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel; for Cain slew him.' 26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enosh; then began men to call upon the name of the LORD. 5:1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made He him; 2 male and female created He them, and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. 3 And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth. 4 And the days of Adam after he begot Seth were eight hundred years; and he begot sons and daughters. 5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died. … 21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begot Methuselah. 22 And Enoch walked with God after he begot Methuselah three hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.

His son is the longest living man on record. Methuselah is the grandfather of Noach. He was such a Tzadik that only 7 days after he passes does the flood come upon the world.

23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years. 24 And Enoch walked with God, and he was not; for God took him.

Chanoch walks with G-D that he makes such a Tikkun, that he achieves Gan Eden for himself but cannot manage to stop and repair a corrupt and wicked world. He become the Chief of all Angels as man is above them. He is called Metatron and perhaps Zuckerberg took the Meta from here.

25 And Methuselah lived a hundred eighty and seven years, and begot Lamech. 26 And Methuselah lived after he begot Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begot sons and daughters. 27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years; and he died. 28 And Lamech lived a hundred eighty and two years, and begot a son. 29 And he called his name Noah, saying: 'This same shall comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands, which cometh from the ground which the LORD hath cursed.'

Noach will establish a renewed and less corrupt world.

30 And Lamech lived after he begot Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begot sons and daughters. 31 And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years; and he died. 32 And Noah was five hundred years old; and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth. 6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives, whomsoever they chose.

There is not a year that goes by where some Christian asks me about the fallen angels. The Medrash and Zohar mention two minor angels by names. However, the majority of the commentators appear to agree that the sons of god were human kings like pharaoh and up to Hirohito an Emperor who came from a god. In Europe there were leaders who had the right to spend the first night with any woman wanting to be married. This concept appears to me to be the case. However, those who like the names of the Angels mentioned in the Medrash-Zohar that is also OK. However, I prefer those who say human rulers as it is the fundamental nature of an Angel to carry out one mission and return to G-D for the next with no independence.

3 And the LORD said: 'My spirit shall not abide in man forever, for that he also is flesh; therefore shall his days be a hundred and twenty years.' 4 The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bore children to them; the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown.

This were taller men coming from these kings or fallen angels.

5 And the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented the LORD that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart. 7 And the LORD said: 'I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and creeping thing, and fowl of the air; for it repents Me that I have made them.'

The corrupt world order is about to be destroyed. {I WONDER OUTLOUD IF THE NEW WORLD ORDER AND WOKE ARE PRELUDE TO MOSHIACH?}

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Roof Boards by Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles

http://ascentofsafed.com/cgi-bin/ascent.cgi?Name=1296-03

If a Jew was on the poor side, finding boards out of which to build the walls of his sukkah was always a problem. Year after year, therefore, Rabbi Mordechai of Lechovitch used to prepare a stock of them, and lend them out to the poor folk of the town during the few days between Yom Kippur and the festival of Sukkot.

One year, on a Friday, the very eve of Sukkot, a threadbare cobbler, lame in one leg, made his way up to the door of the Tzadik. Could he borrow just a few planks for his sukkah? The Tzadik answered that there were none left.

Looking out his window, he then saw the ragged fellow limping from house to house, still in search of a few boards. He felt so sorry for him that he burst into tears.

"Master of the Universe!" he cried. "Just look how Your children cherish the mitzvah of living in a sukkah! See with what self-sacrifice they are determined to fulfill it! It's raining outside. The alleys are full of mud and mire. Yet there he tramps, that ragged cobbler, lame in one leg, and wearing torn shoes - looking for boards for a sukkah!

"Look down, then, Master of the Universe, from Your holy dwelling place in heaven. Bless Your People Israel - and spread out over them Your Sukkah, Your Shelter of Peace."

The Tzadik then climbed up to the roof of his house, and searched about until he found a few boards. These he handed to his attendant with the instruction that he should run after the cobbler with them; and since it was the eve of Shabbat, when time would be even shorter than usual, he should help him to build his sukkah as well!

Biographic notes:
Rabbi Mordechai of Lechovitch (1742 - 15 Tishrei 1810), was a direct male-line descendant of Rashi, the foremost Torah commentator, as well as of the renowned Torah scholar, Rabbi Mordechai Yoffe (1530 - 1612), known as the Levush was a disciple of Rebbe Shlomo of Karlin! He was known for the fervor of his prayers, and for being exceedingly charitable, particularly toward the poor of Eretz Yisrael.

WARSAW GHETTO SURVIVOR IN ISRAEL RECALLS UPRISING by Aron Heller

Two days before her comrades embarked on an uprising that came to symbolize Jewish resistance against the Nazis in World War II, 14-year-old Aliza Mendel got her orders: Escape from the Warsaw Ghetto. The end was near. Nazi troops had encircled the ghetto, and the remaining Jewish rebels inside were prepared to die fighting. They had few weapons, and they felt there was no point in giving one of them to a teenage girl whose main task to that point had been distributing leaflets.

"They told me I was too young to fight," said the survivor, now 84, who uses her married name, Aliza Vitis-Shomron. "They said, 'You have to leave and tell the world how we died fighting the Nazis. That is your job now.'" She's been doing that ever since, publishing a memoir about life in the ghetto and lecturing about the revolt and its legendary leader, Mordechai Anielewicz. While nearly all her friends perished, she survived the ghetto and a later period in a Nazi concentration camp. She made it to Israel, married and has three children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Successful CF Treatment in Israel

On Oct. 19th there was a small story of a Cystic Fibrosis Patient from Jordan treated from childhood in Israel who married this week. Usually patients with this genetic disorder do not survive especially in Arab Countries but 23years ago his treatment started and continued.

Flash back 55 years ago at City College New York uptown campus. We were in the middle of Harlem-Spanish Harlem. One of the locals had walked on to the campus. I was new to the idea of wearing a Yarmulke but decided to do so. I contributed to the cause and sat down for a chat with the fellow collecting for CF research. I never imagined that the research would succeed so well.

One of the locals walked in and saw my Yarmulke. If looks could kill, I would have died that fall at the age of 20. I remember going with my mother sometime between the age of 7.5 and 8 to listen to the late Reverend Martin Luther King speak Friday Night in the Steven Wise Free (from true Torah) Synagogue. I remember Goodwin and Schwerner being lynched by the KKK fighting for Black Rights and here was a Blackman with anti-Semitism like the KKK.

Today the Blacks don’t fight for equality anymore but instead for segregation from whites. Totally WOKE and now Jew Free Spots on Campuses.

This reminds me of the song from the Sound of Music that was in the original play but did not make the movie: “No Way to Stop It” or as I remember it - A Crazy Planet Full of Crazy People. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9VeHD7aJdo

Two Shocking Revealed Secrets by Rabbi Y. Tilles

http://ascentofsafed.com/cgi-bin/ascent.cgi?Name=1297-04

In 1734, the Baal Shem Tov, revealed himself and the chasidic movement. In the following years, many Jews flocked to him, as he was gaining fame as a healer of souls and a worker of miracles. However, the well-known illustrious Torah scholar, Rabbi Yaakov-Yosef of Polnoye remained unconvinced, suspicious that the charismatic new leader was a charlatan.

It happened that the child of a Chasid of the Baal Shem Tov who lived in Polnoye became engaged to the child of one of the Besht's closest followers. At the Tenaim, In 1734, the Baal Shem Tov, revealed himself and the chasidic movement.

As the day of the wedding drew close, doubts arose in the hearts of the family from Polnoye. How would Rabbi Yaakov Yosef react? Was he not the rabbi of the city, and thus traditionally honored to officiate at all weddings in his town? Would he agree that the Baal Shem Tov, whose path was unconventional and which he did not appreciate (to say the least), be the one to officiate at a wedding in his city?

The Chasid from Polnoye decided to speak to Rabbi Yaakov Yosef. He told him that he had not thought much about it initially, but that now he was having second thoughts. In fact, he was even considering annulling the engagement, since he did not want to cause a scandal in the town. But first, he wanted to know the rabbi's opinion.

The rabbi told him that he absolutely must not annul a match that was agreed upon by both sides. As for him, he was ready to forgo his honor for the sake of a match that was surely announced in heaven even before the young couple was born. He blessed the Chasid that the wedding should be in a good and auspicious time, and that the young couple build an everlasting edifice.

On the day of the wedding, right after the evening prayers, the rabbi closeted himself in his home and became immersed in the study of Torah. However, for some reason he was unable to concentrate as well as usual.

From time to time a thought arose in his mind: "Since the Baal Shem Tov has come to our city, perhaps it would be worthwhile to go and see him. This way I will know with certainty if I am right in my opposition."

But then he would reconsider: "It is not permitted to disrupt Torah learning. I had good reason not to go to this wedding, and so I will not change my mind now."

But the rabbi felt himself being tugged back and forth; no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to focus on his studies. In the end, he decided to go and find a secret spot from which he could observe the Baal Shem Tov and his actions. It was already quite late at night, and the streets of Polnoye were not well lit with streetlights, so he was able to get to the wedding hall undetected.

The rabbi noticed that on the eastern wall of the building there was an open window. Somehow, he managed to get up to this window where he was able to peer in and see what was going on inside. He was delighted to see that the Baal Shem Tov was sitting right below him. The crowd gathered around him, so intent on the words of the Baal Shem Tov that no one even glanced his way.

To his utter amazement, he heard the Baal Shem Tov say:

"You should know, Polnoye Jews, that your rabbi is very holy and exalted. He studies Torah day and night, and the fear of heaven is his treasure, but twice he made a small mistake.

"The first time was just before Passover. The Rabbi had to prepare the traditional sermon delivered on Shabbat HaGadol, the Shabbat before Passover. The family was busy cleaning every nook and cranny in the house for the holiday, so he couldn't sit in his regular place because of the noise and tumult. He went up to the roof, and there he worked on his talk.

"Since spring had already come and it was hot on the roof, the rabbi wanted to drink some water. But he did not want to trouble his family members who were so busy. Instead, he left the house, hoping he would find someone who was bringing water from the well.

"Indeed, just as the Rabbi stepped onto the street, one of the water carriers came by, lugging a pail of water on his shoulders. The rabbi asked him for some water, but the carrier continued walking, saying that he was on a mission to bring this water to some people. The Rabbi was hurt by the water carrier's lack of respect and replied sharply.

"To tell the truth," continued the Baal Shem Tov, "know that this water carrier was a hidden tzaddik (righteous person), and he was on his way to bring the water to his friends, who are no less righteous and learned than your illustrious Rabbi. Therefore, the fact that the he did not reply to the request of the Rabbi was justifiable."

When Rabbi Yaakov Yosef heard these words, his mouth dropped open! How did the Baal Shem Tov know all this? Not a single detail was missing or incorrect.

But then he thought: perhaps someone was following me and saw all this and told the Baal Shem Tov what happened. Actually, he did not have much time to process what he heard, because the Besht soon continued:

"The second incident took place the night of the Tisha B'Av 24 hour fast. After praying and reciting Eicha (Book of 'Lamentations'), your exalted rabbi sat in the synagogue, feeling pain and sadness about the exile of the Divine Presence and the destruction of the Holy Temple. The time was after midnight and the synagogue was empty. The rabbi continued to sit in his corner on a low stool and cried bitterly until he had no strength left in him.

"His heartfelt tears and prayers accomplished their goal, pierced the Heavens and reached right up to the Throne of Glory. Indeed, it was even decided to send Moshiach to redeem the Jewish people from their exile in the merit of the beseeching and tears of the rabbi of Polnoye.

"But then the Satan ('Accuser') interrupted: Why are you are so impressed with the cries and pleas of this rabbi? Wait until I go down and entice him, and you will see that he is not so pure.'

"The heavenly court agreed to wait and see if the Satan would be successful in his endeavor.

"Satan came down and entered the synagogue in Polnoye holding an apple. He appeared as a Torah scholar and addressed the rabbi: 'Our dear Rabbi, the light of our eyes! You have become so weak; your life is in danger. If you do not taste something, G d forbid, the worst could happen!'

The rabbi rebuffed him, but Satan was not easily deterred. He continued, giving all sorts of learned arguments demonstrating that the rabbi must indeed eat at least a little bit.

"The thought slowly worked itself into the mind of the rabbi, 'Perhaps this man is right.' When the Satan saw that a crack had opened in the wall of opposition, he continued more forcefully. At last his efforts were crowned with success. The rabbi took the apple in his hand and made the blessing that is said before eating fruit.

"As soon as the rabbi finished the blessing, even before he put the apple to his mouth, he realized that something was not 'kosher.' He threw the apple on the ground and shouted: 'Get out of here, impure one!'

"Suddenly the man-and the apple-disappeared! Realizing what had happened, the rabbi cried bitter tears, heartbroken that he had been ensnared by the Satan.

"Worn from the exertions of the evening, the rabbi fell asleep. He dreamed that he was walking out of the city. He soon came upon a big and beautiful apple orchard and thought to himself, 'I know this whole city, and I never saw this apple orchard in this place.' He walked around to see where the entrance to the orchard was. Finally, he spotted the gate.

"Seeing a guard sitting by the gate entrance, he asked him, 'Whose orchard is this?' The guard answered, 'It belongs to the rabbi of Polnoye.'

The rabbi replied in surprise: 'What are you talking about? I am the rabbi of Polnoye, and I do not have an orchard!'

"The guard smiled bitterly and said, 'I know that you are the Rabbi, and you need to know that this orchard is indeed connected to you. The orchard, the trees and the fruit, and everything here was created through the unnecessary blessing that you made under the influence of Satan. I was sent here to guard your orchard.'

"'Is there no rectification for my sin?' asked the rabbi, humbly.

"The guard answered, 'If you read Tehilim (Psalms) with proper intent, you will be shown from heaven how the orchard is slowly being nullified. Eventually, when you see the trees upside down, their roots above and their branches in the ground, you will know that your repentance has been accepted.'

"The rabbi awoke from his dream with his spirit broken. The next day, after the prayers, he said the whole book of Psalms with great intention and focus, while tears streamed down his cheeks.

"When he finished the first section, he was shown that the fruits from the trees had fallen off; when he finished the second section, he saw that all the leaves withered and disappeared; when he finished the third, the thin branches dried up; by the time he finished the fourth, the large ones had also shriveled and the trees were now naked. When he finished the fifth and final section, the trees were uprooted and had toppled over-but, they did not turn upside down.

"From then on, your rabbi has continued to say the whole book of Psalms with tears of repentance and with great intention. However, he sees that the trees remain flat on the ground, so he knows that his repentance is not complete."

When the rabbi heard all this coming from the lips of the Besht, his heart melted., He said to himself, "Indeed the Baal Shem Tov is a G-dly and holy man. It is impossible that any plain mortal should know all the details of what happened in such an exact manner." He decided then and there that he would attach himself to him.

At that moment the Baal Shem Tov stood, turned toward the window, and called out, "Rabbi Yaakov Yosef HaKohen, if you wish to get to the ultimate rectification of your sin and see with your own eyes that all the trees are upside down, come to me!"

From then on, the Rabbi Yaakov Yosef of Polnoye became an ardent student and one of the most illustrious disciples of the Baal Shem Tov.

Biographical note: Rabbi Yaakov-Yosef HaKohain of Polnoye [5470 - 24 Tishrei 5544* (1710 - Oct. 1783)] was one of the earliest and closest rabbinical disciples of the Baal Shem Tov. He was the first person to author a book of Chasidic teachings, titled Toldos Yaakov Yosef, which had a revolutionary effect upon publication. Subsequently, he published two other chasidic classics, Ben Porat Yosef and Ketones Passim. These three books, in which he said many hundreds of times "I heard from my teacher, my master, that…" (249 times in 'Toldos' alone), were the chief printed sources for teachings in the name of the Baal Shem Tov.

The Ribnitzer Rebbe, Rav Shach, Satmar and the Rescued Children. From Yad Le Achim.

https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/361355

This incredible story is brought to you in honor of the Ribnitzer Rebbe’s Yahrzeit

It was the early 1980’s and *Rivka was in trouble. She had a difficult life growing up and unfortunately had ended up marrying Mahmoud, an Arab. Like too many others, she was ensnared by his deceiving ways, (he spoke a perfect Hebrew) and by the time she realized her tragic mistake, it was too late. She was subject to a life of abuse and horrors. Despite the difficulty, she feared for the life of her three children, two girls and a boy… so she stayed. She was afraid what would happen to them if she ran away. She was also expecting a fourth child at the time.

One day she received a call from her husband’s boss. Mahmoud had an accident at work. He touched a live wire and was electrocuted to death. She was free.

She had known about the rescue organization Yad L’Achim for quite a while but was afraid to reach out. Although her husband was dead, she was still afraid of her husband’s family. She discovered that there was a Yad L’Achim office in Haifa, near her village. One day, she ran away with her children and burst into the Yad L’Achim office asking for help. Yad L’Achim immediately sprung into action. They were able to help Rivka and her three children and bring her to a safe house in Eretz Yisrael.

Yad L’Achim soon realized that Rivka’s life was still in danger. Mahmoud’s family was threatening her and her children and were looking for ways to find out her location. Yad L’Achim went to consult with HaRav Shach zt”l about what to do about this specific case. Rav Shach advised Yad L’Achim to get Rivka and her children to America. Once in America, Rav Shach encouraged that they should try and be placed into Satmar schools.

Heeding the Rosh Yeshiva’s advice, Yad L’Achim was able to get Rivka and her three children safely to America specifically to a family in Williamsburg who was in charge of ensuring her wellbeing in the States.

Rivka gave birth to a healthy baby boy in America. Unfortunately, due to various circumstances, Rivka was incapable of raising her children and with the guidance of Gedolei Yisrael, suitable homes were sought who could adopt and raise these precious children.

Upon the guidance of Rav Shach that the children ideally be placed in Satmar institutions, local families were sought who could fulfill the great mitzvah of taking in these children.

A Yad L’Achim staffer in the states sought the blessing of the Satmar Rebbe, the Beirach Moshe zt”l. The Rebbe immediately took money out of his pocket to help the children. When told that all that was requested was the Rebbe’s bracha so that these children be placed in his institutions, the Rebbe replied, “How can you deny me the zechus (merit) of helping Yad L’Achim and these children?” He then gave his enthusiastic bracha for success while welcoming the children.

Amazingly, three families, including two from Williamsburg, readily offered to adopt three of the children and raise them as their own. And indeed, these children who grew up in an Arab village were now learning Aleph-Beis and growing up to be healthy, successful Jews.

There was one girl left who had not yet found a home. A couple from Flatbush reached out and beseeched to be allowed to adopt the youngest girl. Here was their story: They were not blessed with children for over fifteen years and had approached the Ribnitzer Rebbe zt”l for a bracha that they merit a child. The Ribnitzer gave them a unique bracha; he told them that if they would adopt a Jewish child in need and raise that child as their own, they would merit their own offspring. It seemed to come full circle as the Ribnitzer Rebbe was a staunch supporter of Yad L’Achim. The Rebbe attended Yad L’Achim events, contributed from his own money and gave his bracha to whomever supported them and their work of Pidyon Shvuyim.

They were a special , warm couple and seemed to be a perfect fit for the precious child. They adopted the youngest girl Sara. Eleven months later, the Ribnitzer Rebbe’s bracha was fulfilled with the birth of a baby girl. They now had two girls in their family.

Today, these four children are married, raised Frum Jewish families of their own. And yes, the two boys who grew up in an Arab village, today wear shtreimels on Shabbos!

Ed-Op Dr. Martin Sherman: Israel over the last 5 decades. It seems chronically afflicted by gross strategic imbecility. https://www.jewishpress.com/indepth/columns/into-the-fray-martin-sherman/into-the-fray-pernicious-paradox-israels-tactical-brilliance-vs-strategic-imbecility/2022/08/29/

Clearly, Operations Cast Lead (2008-9), Pillar of Defense (2012), Protective Edge (2014), Black Belt (2019), Guardian of the Walls (2021), and most recently Breaking Dawn (2022), together with countless interim skirmishes, have done nothing to advance progress towards a lasting cessation of hostilities.

A must listen too if you understand Hebrew: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUCgJmRPNPs

This was taken from the wall of Helene W. Guy Bechor talks (Hebrew) about the horrible Gas 'agreement' - that Hizballah is not mentioned and therefore has free reign to do what they want, but Israel is very tied to this 'agreement' and will be almost impossible for Israel to get out of it.

In addition, as far as I know, any BORDER change of Israel MUST go through the Knesset for voting, and IF it passes, MUST go to a national REFERENDUM. None of this has been even started - so Israel CANNOT sign the agreement, nobody can be "authorized" - and if so it is a LIE. Am Yisrael is being bamboozled again by the left-wing, headed by Lapid.
