Parsha Beresheis

This year I have Wednesday Afternoon to Friday Publication to do all of our first section of Sefer Beresheis (Book of Genesis) 1:1 – 6:8 with the initial creation of the Universe and all that is within, what happened in Gan Eden, where did the wives of Kayn and Hevel come from, murder, Chanoch (Enoch) becoming the Arch-Angel Metatron, Fallen Angels with daughters of men and giant offspring, Tuval Kayn and weapons of war, Adams skin coat, and various legends in the Midrash and Zohar (100’s of pages in English to condense); I promised once and for all to put the time period of six days vs. thirteen billion five hundred million years into the proper frame work. If one has the time, the archives of my yearly Beresheis Drasha are available on the right side and one can go back to see what I wrote starting with: https://rabbipauli.blogspot.com/2008/10

And the Lubavitcher Rebbe with his at least MS in Engineering writing:

https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/112083/jewish/Theories-of-Evolution.htm

That was my first shot attempt to explain what I am about to explain now while in Oct. 2009 – 2024 are the missing commentaries. This year I start out differently going back to myself 60 years ago.

60 years ago, I entered City College of New York as an agnostic wanting to make my mark in the world. I believed in a 13,500,000,000 year old Universe, a 4,500,000,000 year old earth, Darwin and perhaps the infallibility of science. After four years, I left College a believer in Creation, dimensions beyond time and space with no evolution but stages.

There are lots of questions that remain unanswered in conventional science as I shall show below but first a standard reading of the Torah with Rashi and my comments and then further analysis. This year I only cover the first chapter as I try to dismantle current science into a six day creation.

Should the scientific questioning of time period of years vs. 24 hour days become too tedious please skip down to the other Torah Commentary and Story.

GENESIS OR BERESHEIS (Hebrew): 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Rashi comments as follows: In the beginning: Said Rabbi Isaac: It was not necessary to begin the Torah except from “This month is to you,” (Exod. 12:2) which is the first commandment that the Israelites were commanded, (for the main purpose of the Torah is its commandments, and although several commandments are found in Genesis, e.g., circumcision and the prohibition of eating the thigh sinew, they could have been included together with the other commandments). Now for what reason did He commence with “In the beginning?” Because of [the verse] “The strength of His works He related to His people, to give them the inheritance of the nations” (Ps. 111:6). For if the nations of the world should say to Israel, “You are robbers, for you conquered by force the lands of the seven nations [of Canaan],” they will reply, "The entire earth belongs to the Holy One, blessed be He; He created it (this we learn from the story of the Creation) and gave it to whomever He deemed proper When He wished, He gave it to them, and when He wished, He took it away from them and gave it to us.

In the beginning of God’s creation of: Heb. בְּרֵאשִית בָּרָא. This verse calls for a Midrashic interpretation [because according to its simple interpretation, the voxelization of the word בָּרָא, should be different, as Rashi explains further]. It teaches us that the sequence of the Creation as written is impossible, as is written immediately below] as our Rabbis stated (Letters of R. Akiva , letter “Beth” ; Gen. Rabbah 1:6; Lev. Rabbah 36:4): [God created the world] for the sake of the Torah, which is called (Prov. 8:22): “the beginning of His way,” and for the sake of Israel, who are called (Jer. 2:3) “the first of His grain.” But if you wish to explain it according to its simple meaning, explain it thus: “At the beginning of the creation of heaven and earth, the earth was astonishing with emptiness, and darkness…and God said, ‘Let there be light.’” But Scripture did not come to teach the sequence of the Creation, to say that these came first, for if it came to teach this, it should have written: “At first (בָּרִאשׁוֹנָה) He created the heavens and the earth,” for there is no רֵאשִׁית in Scripture that is not connected to the following word, [i.e., in the construct state] like (ibid. 27:1):“In the beginning of (בְּרֵאשִית) the reign of Jehoiakim” ; (below 10:10)“the beginning of (רֵאשִׁית) his reign” ; (Deut. 18:4)“the first (רֵאשִׁית) of your corn.” Here too, you say בְּרֵאשִׁית בָּרָא אלֹהִים, like בְּרֵאשִׁית בְּרֹא, in the beginning of creating. And similar to this is ,“At the beginning of the Lord’s speaking (דִּבֶּר) to Hosea,” (Hos. 1:2), i.e., at the beginning of the speaking (דִּבּוּרוֹ) of the Holy One, Blessed be He, to Hosea, “the Lord said to Hosea, etc.” Now if you say that it came to teach that these (i.e., heaven and earth) were created first, and that its meaning is: In the beginning of all, He created these-and that there are elliptical verses that omit one word, like (Job 3:10): “For [He] did not shut the doors of my [mother’s] womb,” and it does not explain who it was who shut [the womb]; and like (Isa. 8:4): “he will carry off the wealth of Damascus,” and it does not explain who will carry it off; and like (Amos 6:12): “or will one plow with cattle,” and it does not explain: “if a man will plow with cattle” ; and like (Isa. 46: 10): “telling the end from the beginning,” and it does not explain that [it means] telling the end of a matter from the beginning of a matter-if so, [if you say that Scripture indicates the order of creation] be astounded at yourself, for the water preceded, as it is written: “and the spirit of God hovered over the face of the water,” and Scripture did not yet disclose when the creation of water took place! From this you learn that the water preceded the earth. Moreover, the heavens were created from fire and water. Perforce, you must admit that Scripture did not teach us anything about the sequence of the earlier and the later [acts of creation].

God’s creation of the heavens and the earth: But it does not say “of the Lord’s creation of” (i.e., it should say “of the Lord God’s creation of” as below 2:4 “on the day that the Lord God made earth and heaven”) for in the beginning it was His intention to create it with the Divine Standard of Justice, but he perceived that the world would not endure; so He preceded it with the Divine Standard of Mercy, allying it with the Divine Standard of Justice, and that is the reason it is written: “on the day the Lord God made earth and heaven.”

This is the Chabad translation and I intend in the book to use a translation with an expired copy-write. I will probably bring down the various attribute and angels of G-D arguing against creation of a physical world to try to match the heavenly kingdom. Since I was born about 1000 or more years after my forefather Rabbi Yitzchaki, from my own religious standpoint, I have no need to learn of the physical creation of the world. As a former scientist and engineer it is my pleasure to learn this.

As both a scientist/engineer I have to find a solution that matches the Torah and science to explain the creation of the planet earth and before photons could over-come the antiphotons so that there would be light.

We ended the last paragraph with the word “implosion” and I intend to explain the creation of the planet earth within the first day for the 5786 year-old universe.

Deriving the heavier elements from the big bang. At first, Gamow believed that all the elements might be produced in the very high temperature and density early stage of the universe. Later, he revised this opinion on the strength of compelling evidence advanced by Fred Hoyle et al. that elements heavier than lithium are largely produced in thermonuclear reactions in stars and in supernovae. Gamow formulated a set of coupled differential equations describing his proposed process and assigned, as a PhD. dissertation topic, his graduate student Ralph Alpher the task of solving the equations numerically. These results of Gamow and Alpher appeared in 1948 as the Alpher–Bethe–Gamow paper Before his interest turned to the question of the genetic code, Gamow published about twenty papers on cosmology. The earliest was in 1939 with Edward Teller on galaxy formation, followed in 1946 by the first description of cosmic nucleosynthesis. He also wrote many popular articles as well as academic textbooks on this and other subjects. The creation of heavier elements from super nova was needed to complete the formation of the planet earth.

Remembering Susskind’s ‘lumps’ in the initial ‘cosmic soup’ as scientists call it. One lump here and there might have been enough during this time to form a supernova. From these supernovas spread out across the galaxy the elements of carbon, iron, silicon, oxygen and nitrogen formed along with much heavier elements to the natural occurring uranium and those elements that break down over the course of minutes or years. One such supernova produced enough heavier elements that spawn out into empty space at zero degrees K would condense quick enough via gravity and magnetic attraction to form a body in space called earth or Aretz in Hebrew. After speaking to Dr. of Chemistry and Rabbi Elihu Schatz Shlita, he told me that I did not need a solid primeval earth but a molten earth with a steam and gas atmosphere. This matches perfectly the 3000 K Universe of Dr. Stephen Weinstein after the first three minutes. The elements that were gaseous would be attracted to form an atmosphere and the H2O thrown out would by the second day condense into water.

2 Now the earth was unformed and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters.

Astonishingly empty: Heb. תֹהוּ וָבֹהוּ. The word תֹהוּ is an expression of astonishment and desolation, that a person wonders and is astonished at the emptiness therein.

Astonishingly empty: Astordison in Old French; [étourdissement in modern French], astonishment. בֹהוּ an expression of emptiness and desolation. (This does not appear in all editions.)

בֹהוּ: an expression of emptiness and desolation. (This does not appear in all editions.)

on the face of the deep: on the face of the waters which were on the earth.

And the spirit of God was hovering: The Throne of Glory was suspended in the air and hovered over the face of the water with the breath of the mouth of the Holy One, blessed be He and with His word, like a dove, which hovers over the nest, acoveter in Old French, to cover, hover over.

3 And God said: 'Let there be light.' And there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.

And God saw the light that it was good, and God separated: Here too, we need the words of the Aggadah: He saw it that it was not proper for the wicked to use it; so, He separated it for the righteous in the future. According to its simple meaning, explain it as follows: He saw it that it was good, and it was unseemly that it [light] and darkness should serve in confusion; so He established for this one its boundary by day, and for that one its boundary by night.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

One day: According to the sequence of the language of the chapter, it should have been written, “the first day,” as it is written regarding the other days, “second, third, fourth.” Why did Scripture write “one”? Because the Holy One, blessed be He, was the only one in His world, for the angels were not created until the second day. [i.e., יוֹם אֶחָד is understood as ‘the day of the only One’] So is it explained in Genesis Rabbah (3:8).

Now for the scientific explanation with in inclusion of the L-RD G-D as CREATOR. The L-RD is existing and thinking of a plan to take care of the darkness and void of space. According to the Midrash, the who creation took 1000 years of planning and thought. First came the attributes and the Angels. Attributes are for example love, charity, glory, justice, mercy, compassion, etc. Then came the thought power creating a universe in a holy plan called Torah.

Scientifically, the whole universe was created from a thought and compacted mass the size of a pea with a temperature inside of one with 43 zeroes Kelvin with 0 K is absolute zero where everything is frozen. After the initial planning, the big bang was ready to happen with Yehi Ohr (let there be light).

Dr. Weinstein ends his first section of the first three minutes with the comment. After a few minutes the Universe has expanded and is now a few light years in circumference.

We shall stop here and look at physics slapping itself in the face. The Hebrew word is Stirah which means contradiction or slap in the face. In the late 1800’s Albert Michaelson measured the speed of light to be 186,000 miles or 300,000 kilometers per second. According to the laws of Albert Einstein nothing can travel faster than the speed of light.

A light year is calculated as follows: 300,000 meters’ x 60 seconds to a minute x 60 seconds to an hour x 24 hours’ x 365.25 days in a year. Now if nothing goes faster than the speed of light how do we get a universe that expands to a few light years in a few minutes?

We shall learn about the 11 dimensions of string theory later. In 1966 CE, I was an agnostic Reform Jew investigating the physics behind ESP (Extra Sensory Perception – predictions, prophecy or what you would like to call it. Unbeknownst to me at the time, the discoverer of the Neutrino was corresponding with the Psychologist Carl Jung and the Kabbalist Gershom Scholem on this very subject before he passed away.) I do not know if String Theory existed then and I only learned about 11 dimensions of Professor John Henry Schwarz in the late 1970’s from “Scientific American”. Einstein proposed Time to be the 4th dimension over the standard three length, width and height. In 1923 Klein proposed ‘Klein’s Bottle’ with a 5th Dimension.

In a relatively recent publication, Dr. Yoram Har Lev of Tel Aviv University quoting a paper of his: This work suggests a possible way to shed light on how our universe functions by assuming that we are in a five-dimension universe (or more). Although the five-dimensional Randell-Sundrum model avoids the necessity to consider all current scientific theories, this five-dimensional universe hypothesis is more natural and much simpler. Thus, he appears to we awakened to truer reality.}

Dr. Yoram Har Lev in a different paper: Is the Universe 5 Dimensional? The idea of a 5D Universe is not new. It was introduced in 1921 by Kaluza. Kaluza established mathematical elements, field equations, equations of motion, stress energy tensors etc.

As expected the establishment Philosophers and scientists rejected Kaluza’s ideas.

Dr. Yoram Har Lev then proposes the 5D model to reflect reality. I prefer the 11D of Dr. John Schwartz. For the wisdom of the ancients and Kabbala is a perspective that our standard scientist rejects outright. I have seen and witnessed in various books stories of near-death experiences matching descriptions in the Babylonian Talmud Moed Katan that the non-Jew describing things could not have read. “Life After Life” by Dr. Raymond Moody M.D. and many other authors.

Once we have established in physics that there is a dimension above time, just like in the three-dimensional world I can go back and forth in length and width and by jumping or with a ladder or airplane conquer height, I theoretically could go back and forth in time. I wrote this about 15 to 20 years ago with a female Canadian Physicist and I forgot her name. She told me that some of the spaces in between dimensions of an 11 or more-dimensional world were as small as de Broglie Waves (waves of quantum matter discovered or proposed by Louis de Broglie in 1924). That did not particularly bother me as I was not building a time machine. I was studying ESP that had brain waves or something from the human soul that could go back and forth in time. I have read and heard stories of the Baal Shem Tov, Lubavitcher Rebbe and people with near death or out of body experiences that could instantly travel from place to place or see the future in a trancelike state. Some people experience a dream or premonition that warns them or comes true. Others a parent or grandparent came to them in a dream with advice.

With pure logic I deduced that the earth of now where the dreamer or recipient of the premonition is here and now in time and space. The earth, sun, galaxy and cluster of galaxies are moving at such and such a speed. Assuming that an Edgar Cayce, Jeanne Dixon or another anonymous individual did such a thing and many were documented, this shows that something now has gone through space and time and returned with information to our current space and time. I came to the following conclusion that since the three-dimensional world was limited in speed to that of the speed of light and our 4th dimension time was only measurable to us here and now, there had to be a 5th or higher dimension above time and three-dimensional space to support ESP (extra sensory perception). This was done by Richard Pauli, the agnostic, sometime in August 1966. It bothered me so much that I decided to ask questions and challenge a religious Jew with questions I had on Judaism. This eventually would lead me to becoming a believing Jew, by Yehuda Himmelstein just before he was going to be a Graduate Student at Columbia University. I was perhaps distracted by becoming a religious Jew and my pro-USA stance on the Viet Nam war from becoming a physicist but about 40 or so years later becoming Rabbi Rachamim Pauli. In my spare time, I worked on improving my understanding of the physical and theological aspects of creation.

I proposed to myself two principles at that time:

The Inclusion Principle.

When calculating time and space in the physical world one must include dimensions above ordinary time and space as viewed from a human standpoint.

The Principle of Cosmic Unity.

That it was possible to be anywhere in time or space instantly.

This was for explaining ESP. I realized at that instant that I had discovered in this unity. G-D of the few things that I had learned in Reform Judaism was the sentence in Hebrew. Shema Yisrael HASHEM ELOKAYNU HASHEM Echad. (Hear O’ Israel the L-RD our G-D the L-RD is one Deut. {Devarim} 6:4) Suddenly, I believed that I had rediscovered G-D through science – and that was before I knew what has been discovered about the constants and the early universe. This in fact that I came upon is one of the principles of faith of Maimonides known in Hebrew as the Rambam. The translation of the song Adom Olam (Master of the world) goes like this: HE was, HE is, and HE will be. I did not know the principles of faith but suddenly I had realized it. In one way, I was like Avrum in the city of Ur growing up as a member of an idolatry society. The idolatry that I had been subject to was an Atheistic Scientist World. Even the science fiction of the day drummed into the heads of TV viewers was Star Trek a future with space exploration with no religion. Just like him with the exception of the physicist Yehuda Himmelstein, who I debated and Professor Leo Levi, there were no others who were believers. Avrum had Noach, Shem and a few others who were believers.

I have written this week about twice or more my weekly Torah. I have not even finished One Day or broached on the Pearlman’s Red Shift theory. My theory of how galaxies moved so far and fast by the Inclusion Principle. Neither I have broached why scientists believe that the universe spread out relatively straight like a wave and not shaped like a sphere or a saddle. I have not dealt with the second day and the splitting of the waters above and below or the third day and the rocks that absorbed water that dry land can appear. There are some questions that I had on creation with the earth being captured only on the 4th day by the sun and the capture of the moon on the fourth day with them taking up the same degree of sky to produce eclipses. All this and more with the DNA, RNA probabilities in plants and animals happening by accident will be covered and no evolution but jumping in stages.

What is a star and how hot is it? The Red Dwarfs are cooler than our sun by perhaps 3000K while the White Stars are warmer. Our Sun is between 6-7,000K degrees but the Corona is between 1-2,000,000K degrees. https://www.skyandtelescope.com/astronomy-news/first-science-returns-parker-solar-probe/

When scientists think within the box good physicists like Dr. Yoram Har Lev published papers on 3D, 4D or 5D models and miss the 11D universe. Which he later rejects with a 5D Universe. I can’t blame the scientists who cannot think out of the box for this is what we see.  So, we end up with a standard physics model like this: Randall-Sundrum Model of a 3D world in a 4D Universe missing out on the other 7 Dimensions and Banes. Or the Polchsinski and Strassler Theorem. After over a half century of not using Calculus, they would run circles around my math. However, in that same half a century, I studied our Creator and the Creation of the Universe. So, I thought out of the Physics Box with within the World of Foundation, Creation and current Emanation.

So the Physicists, Astronomers and Cosmologist have their relative truths but limited to the vast infinite truth of Creation. I take this analogy of this to their observations with the eye and telescopes similar to a dog chasing a squirrel up a tree. The dog concludes thus because he saw the squirrel go up the tree, he is still there. However, in reality, the squirrel has hopped from tree to tree and is a long way away from the dog.

In Professor Steven Weinberg’s world photons, electrons, neutrinos etc. are travelling around but after 3 minutes the Universe is a couple of light years and he mentions that without any explanation. Ah that is where an 11 dimensional universe kicks in. It might be that from dimension to dimension the distance is tiny. However, under heat and pressure the photons etc. are extruded through the dimensions above time. Thus the 14,000,000,000year universe is 92,000,000,000 years from end to end and nobody says anything. Galaxies took 500,000,000years to form or instantly when extruded through 11D? (I will cover this below)

FOR IF YOU TELL ME THAT THE UNIVERSE IS SO MANY LIGHT YEARS WIDE BUT EXISTS ONLY 13,500,000,000 YEARS HOW CAN THAT POSSIBLY BE?

Anybody who has read Professor and Nobel Prize Winner Steven Weinberg’s book The First Three Minutes describing the Big Bang will find out the size of the universe after three minutes is several light years! Hugh? I thought that the top speed of the photons, antiphotons, electrons, positrons, neutrinos, antineutrinos, and perhaps some assorted X-rays or Gamma-rays are limited to the speed of light. The current age and diameter of the Universe per NASA in 2006 is 13.7 Billion years old with a diameter of 93 to 94Billion light years. How can that be? Where is the dark matter and dark energy? https://imagine.gsfc.nasa.gov/educators/programs/cosmictimes/educators/guide/age_size.html

So, by taking the Pauli Inclusion Principle into account. We have heaven and earth created on the first day or as the Torah says “One Day”. On day two, the hot planet cools off in space and water vapors condense.

{To be fair Dr. Yoram Har Lev wrote elsewhere - This work suggests a possible way to shed light on how our universe functions by assuming that we are in a five-dimension universe (or more). Although the five-dimensional Randell-Sundrum model avoids the necessity to consider all current scientific theories, this five-dimensional universe hypothesis is more natural and much simpler. Thus, he appears to we awakened to truer reality.}

In a recent books: “Beyond the ashes” by Y. Gershom (on order) or I've Been Here Before: Holocaust and Reincarnation. July 11, 2021 | by Sara Yoheved Rigler that I read. There are too many cases of souls and other worldly time-space phenomena not to mention E.S.P. and the semi-sci-fi world of UFO’s that show us that there is something more to time and space that meets the eye and thinking within the box of physical observance.

The L-RD signed creation with his name. There are very slight DNA differences that produce a plant, animal, fish, bird or man. It is known that the DNA Sequence Spacing is a block of 10 Ketones, RNA, etc. The next space is five then six and finally five again before the sequence repeats. Putting it in the Gematria of the Hebrew Letters we have 10 which we note by Yud then 5 which is Hey followed by six or Vav and finally the last five Hey. Yud-kay-Vav-kay where Kay = Hey happens to be the TETRAGRAMATION OF THE DIVINE NAME.

In a lecture by Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Porat HaCohain Shlita on the construction of the Tabernacle, he mentioned that we can see Galaxies and other physical materials in this world (Hebrew HaOlam). But we cannot see G-D (NeOlam) or not visible to us. The Spiritual World is missing from three, four or five-dimensional world. An old English Translation I saw on the Kabbalah called the L-RD “THE MYSTERIOUS UNKNOWN”. I shall propose here a minimum of 11-Dimensional Universe based on both the Kabbalah and the papers of Professor John Schwartz of the California Institute of Technology to explain a lot of the mysteries of the Universe.

The following few paragraphs are to awaken your thought process from the slumber imposed by pseudo-science and various theories over the years you spent in school from Kindergarten through College or Grad-School. I started asking them in August 1966 and it has taken me years to draw these conclusions with the ability to present them to both scientist and layman.

Are we living in a 13.5 to 14,000,000,000-year-old Universe as held by Professor Gerald Schroeder in Genesis and the Big Bang or are we dealing with a 5786-year Universe as held by Rashi (Rabbi Shimon ben Yitzchaki) R, Nachmanides aka Ramban and the late Lubavitcher Rebbe where 6 days of creation are 6 days consisting of 24hrs! The Burlingame Canyon in Washington is another striking example that canyons do not require vast stretches of time to form, but can be carved rapidly under the right conditions. In 1926, engineers diverted water for irrigation by cutting a temporary channel into the land. Heavy water flow was accidentally funneled through this channel, and in just six days, a canyon nearly 1,500 feet long, 120 feet deep, and 120 feet wide was carved out of solid ground.

What evolutionary geologists typically claim takes millions of years—erosion slowly cutting through rock over vast ages—was accomplished in less than a week. This catastrophic event mirrors the same kind of rapid geological processes observed at Mount St. Helens in 1980, when canyons and rock layers formed in hours and days, not eons.

Burlingame Canyon is a small-scale demonstration of what the global Flood described in Genesis could accomplish. If a relatively small stream of water can carve a canyon in six days, imagine what the worldwide deluge, with its immense volume and destructive power, could do over the course of a year. The Grand Canyon, often said to require millions of years to form, can be far more reasonably explained as the result of catastrophic processes during and shortly after Noah’s Flood.

The lesson is clear: the assumption that “slow and gradual” is the only explanation for Earth’s features is faulty. Catastrophic processes, under the right conditions, can produce massive geological formations in an incredibly short time. Burlingame Canyon is not an anomaly—it is a witness to the power of rapid change, confirming the biblical record of a global catastrophe rather than the evolutionary narrative of deep time.

Roger M. Pearlman sent me this information on Carbon Dating of Fossils. Carbon-14 is used to determine the age of organic materials. With a half-life of 5,730 years, most of this isotope should be depleted from materials that are over 60,000 years old. So why do we still find it in rocks and fossils thought to be millions of years old? Andrew Snelling explains the solution in a clip from "Beyond Is Genesis History? Vol. 1: Rocks & Fossils". Galaxies 100,000’s of years earlier than thought. https://www.timesofisrael.com/webb-telescope-spies-likely-oldest-galaxies-ever-found-upending-cosmic-timeline/ As a scientist I must publish the predominate theory and have room to allow an opposing theory of 6,000 years also. The latest James Webb Scope shows too many well-formed galaxies. https://skyandtelescope.org/astronomy-news/the-james-webb-space-telescope-is-finding-too-many-early-galaxies/

A mysterious and puzzling sentence appears in the Talmud and Midrash regarding creation. The statement says that the Torah was designed to be given in the 1000th generation of man. Anybody who reads the genealogy of Moses aka Moshe knows that Moshe was the 26th generation from Adam. So where are the other 974 generations? Yoram Bogacz in his book Genesis and Genes brings down on pages 288 to 293 the 2013 Edition. He discusses the possible solutions to Talmud Chagigah 13B, Job or Iyob 22:16, Psalms or Tehillim 105:8, Beresheis Rabbah 28:4, Koheles Rabbah 1:37, Tanchuma Lech Lecha 11, Yisro 4, Medrash Tehillim 105:3, Tanna Debei Eliyahu Rabbah 13 (70a, 72a), Tanna Debei Eliyahu Zuta 10(15a), Sefer Chassidim 1137.

There is a Philosophical Argument for the existence of G-D in creating the Universe. A Hebrew Version and lecture about an hour long by Rabbi Amnon Yitzchak Shlita is found in the tape “Logos, Ethos, Pathos, …” and can be found in Hebrew also perhaps in English at Shofar.org but I saw YouTube removed it. Aish HaTorah has the following by Rabbi Adam Jacobs: https://aish.com/the-cosmological-argument-for-gods-existence/

The argument has enjoyed a diverse and multicultural history and has been expounded by many, including Aristotle (pagan), Al-Gazali (Muslim), who in turn influenced Aquinas (Christian), and Maimonides (Jewish). The Al-Gazali formulation goes like this:

1.   Whatever begins to exist has a cause;

2.   The Universe began to exist;

3.   Therefore, the Universe had a cause.

THE BIG BANG THEORY AND THE FIRST FEW MINUTES OF CREATION.

Let us now start with the Big Bang Theory and what was going on in the first few minutes of the Universe as describe by Professor and Nobel Prize Winner Stephen Weinberg. In order to have some semblance of scientific respect, I have to take The First Three Minutes by Professor Stephen Weinberg and super-condense it for the layman but just a tang of a Creator for the initial cause. Genesis or Beresheis (Hebrew): 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth is put on hold and those like myself, who believe can wait out a few paragraphs for the explanation while I don’t want to lose the scientists.

The L-RD of the world reigned alone. According to the Torah out of nothing (ex-nilo) HE created matter compacted into the size of a pea. The scientist needs some sort of a trigger to have this matter do something and have a problem how the matter got there in the first place.

Now whether you believe some trigger mechanism caused this dense compact pea with all the matter and energy having a temperature of 1 with 49 zeroes after it in degrees Kelvin to explode or G-D said, “Let there be light”, it exploded. The outside universe is close to absolute zero K. and this hot bunch of photons crashing with antiphotons, neutrinos and electrons begin spreading outwards and speeds beyond belief. The photons number approximately 200,000,001 per every 200,000,000 antiphotons releasing energy as they annihilate each other. Perhaps creating x-rays and gamma rays in the process but that is my guess and not mentioned in Weinberg’s book.

The following description of the very early Universe is taken from the book “The First Three Minutes” by Steven Weinberg. The first mathematical model that one can rely upon for the early Universe occurs at just before 0.01 second after the Big Bang (one hundredth of a second). The Temperature of the Universe slightly before this is now 15 sextillions aka 15,000 trillion degrees K or 15 with 15 zeroes after it. The internal make-up of the cosmic soup is mostly pi-mesons that are about 1/7th the weight of an atomic nucleus. Coming out of the center in all directions are photons of light, electrons, positrons, neutrinos and anti-neutrinos called muons. There are many collisions with electrons (negatively charged) and positrons (positively charged) photons and photons causing neutrinos and muons with some gamma radiation, microwave radiation and x-ray radiation. The annihilation and re-emergence of particles at this time is constant. The Baryon number or Lepton Number is close to zero. (There are 61 known at this time sub-atomic particles and I will explain them as best I can in layman’s terms further on.) {Note that Professor Weinberg simplified the description for us as even at 0.01 second, the temperature is too hot for electrons and positrons to be stable but it was done for our imagination.}

Contradiction of first three minutes and the speed of light and solution.

Anybody who has read Professor and Nobel Prize Winner Steven Weinberg’s book The First Three Minutes describing the Big Bang will find out the size of the universe after three minutes is several light years! Hugh? I thought that the top speed of the photons, antiphotons, neutrinos, antineutrinos, electrons and positrons are limited to the speed of light.

The solution is not within the not within the standard space time continuum as we are taught in school perhaps through College. Einstein stated that there are four dimensions the 3D that we see around us and time. Back in 1921, Felix Klein proposed the famous Klein’s Bottle picturing a 5th dimension through a diagram that looks like twisting a 3-dimensional beach tube in such a way that we have time and inner space representing a 5th dimension. It is beyond time.

Scientists believed that after the Big Bang there were only gas clouds of many eons. But our Torah/Bible is telling us “Let there be light” before and evening and a morning on a first day of 24hours according the Lubavitcher Rebbe who was an Engineer and Scientist based on Rashi’s Comments. All of a sudden, the Webb Telescope discovers a much earlier Galaxy emitting light than Astronomers wanted to admit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhENqNECGvk

6 And God said: 'Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.' 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

It seems that during the formation of the earth, water and an atmosphere attached themselves. Professor Aviezer claims that the water came from comets based on research by Dr. Fred Whipple of the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. Deep inside the crust of the earth there are rocks that absorb water and it is known that more water is in these rocks than in all the oceans of the world combined. Next week we shall see with the great flood, the waters of the deep were opened. https://www.nbcnews.com/science/environment/earths-rocks-contain-hidden-oceans-worth-water-n130961

9 And God said: 'Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear.' And it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters HE called Seas; and God saw that it was good. 11 And God said: 'Let the earth put forth grass, herb yielding seed, and fruit-tree bearing fruit after its kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth.' And it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree bearing fruit, wherein is the seed thereof, after its kind; and God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.

Plant life was created in the seas and dry land. There was no evolution but a generation of plants and fruits with the thought that the seeds of the watermelon would be black, the edible part pink and a white and green rind, the banana and orange with a skin to protect the fruit and distinguish between edible and non-edible parts. The Midrash states that the stalks, barks and wood were supposed to have been edible like fennel stalks but “tree bearing fruit”.

Fruit trees - i.e., the taste of the tree should be like the taste of its fruit. However, the land did not do this, but: “The land sprouted…trees that produce fruit” and not that the trees themselves tasted like fruit. Therefore, when man was cursed for his sin, the land was also held accountable for its sin and cursed.

14 And God said: 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth.' And it was so. 16 And God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night; and the stars. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

The earth was captured by the sun on day four of the cooling of the universe and the earth captured the moon as part of the understanding and measuring of time in the future by man to be created two days later.

20 And God said: 'Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let fowl fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.' 21 And God created the great sea-monsters, and every living creature that creeps, wherewith the waters swarmed, after its kind, and every winged fowl after its kind; and God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying: 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.' 23 And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

The various sea creatures were created to act as food and the legend of the gigantic leviathan to have its skin for the walls of a giant Sukkah in the future. With a great fish meal for all of Israel.

24 And God said: 'Let the earth bring forth the living creature after its kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after its kind.' And it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth after its kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps upon the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

Some points I want to bring down. Mankind has found dinosaur skeletons but no evolutionary forerunner of the dinosaurs. Scientist can lie like politicians to fit their theory. Thus the data fits the graph and not the true results. The most famous Darwin Proof of the evolution of the horse is one big lie. There are fossils transforming the small, dog-sized, forest-dwelling Eohippus into the modern horse. However, Rabbi Avigdor Miller Ztzal did his homework on the subject. It turned out that the little horse was found a few fossil strata above the modern horse and some horses of various sizes were mixed together in the same layer. Like tiny above semi-tiny and semi-modern above the modern. There is a tape out there and his Book “Rejoice O’ Youth” and others destroy Darwin as a Yemenite Dowin (tall tale like Baron Von Munchausen).

26 And God said: 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.'

let us make a human. We learn from here the humility of the Holy One, blessed be He. Since man resembles the angels and they might envy him, God therefore took counsel with them. Similarly, when He judges kings, He consults His heavenly council, as we find in the case of Achav, to whom the prophet Micah said, “I saw God sitting on His throne, with all the heavenly host standing by Him to His right and to His left.” Since He has no bodily form, is there a right side or left side with regard to Him?! But the meaning is that some stand to “His right,” presenting arguments in favor; and some stand to “His left,” presenting arguments to accuse. Similarly we find: “The matter has been determined through the decree of the destructive angels, and that proposed edict, after consultation with God, was determined through the word of the superior holy angels.” Here, too, He requested permission of His heavenly council, saying to them: “In heaven there are beings with a resemblance to Me. If on earth there are no beings with a resemblance to Me, there will be envy among those whom I have created.” let us make a human. Although the angels did not assist Him in forming man, and the plural form leaves open an opportunity for heretics to express a rebellious argument, nevertheless Scripture did not refrain from teaching correct behavior and the virtue of humility, namely, that a greater person should consult and request permission of a lesser person; and if it had written, “I will make man,” we would not have learned that He spoke to His judicial council, but only to Himself. And the response to heretics He wrote immediately afterward: “He (singular) created man” – and He did not write: “They (plural) created.” בְּצַלְמֵנוּ - means “with our mold.” כִּדְמוּתֵנוּ - according to our likeness. i.e., with an ability to understand and to discern. they will rule over the fish of the sea. This expression וְיִרְדּוּ can have the meaning of “ruling” when read with the vowels in our text, or of “descending” when written וְיָרְדוּ. If man is worthy, he rules over the beasts and animals, but if he is not worthy, he becomes lower than them and beasts rule over him.

Man has wisdom, knowledge and understanding and is capable of creating many things from the elements of the universe like HASHEM does but not the ability to create something from nothing. Our belief is that the “image” is the DIVINE SOUL within man. The Neshama is a true child of HASHEM within us. The Tanya will explain the components of the soul. For our purposes we are given a holy pure soul and we are asked to keep it clean. Our body is from HASHEM too and putting tattoos on it forbidden in Leviticus 19:28 which is like scribbling on a creation of G-D.

27 And God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. 28 And God blessed them; and God said unto them: 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that creeps upon the earth.'

You have the power from ME to rule this planet and all that is within. {In chapter 2 there is a choice between good an evil that entered man. The original creation did not have such an ability. Thus it would have been a no-brainer for mankind to kill off the Dodo Bird.}

29 And God said: 'Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed--to you it shall be for food; 30 and to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is a living soul, [I have given] every green herb for food.' And it was so.

The beasts feared and awed Adam. He was a pure vegetarian and the beasts could be used for planting, harvesting, etc.

31 And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.

The Kiddush for Shabbos starts here but in Hebrew it is a coded message:

יוַיְכֻלּ֛וּ הַשָּׁמַ֥יִם י֥וֹם הַשִּׁשִּֽׁי

Notice the first letter of each word. Yud then Hay followed by Vav and then Hay or the Tetragrammaton of the L-RD.

And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day. 2:1 And the heaven and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God finished His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it He rested from all His work which God in creating had made.

The last letter of each word put together is Emmet or Truth so the creation ends with the L-RD is truth. אֲשֶׁר־בָּרָ֥א אֱלֹהִ֖ים לַֽעֲשֽׂוֹת: Aleph Mem Tav.

The Sabbath or Shabbos is a special day and its holiness cannot be underestimated. Those who observe it are blessed and those who don’t are living in spiritual world astonishingly void, with darkness over the surface of the abyss.

… 6:5 And the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

There was violence (Hamas) and murder, adultery and other sexual acts out of boredom with other species, incest, thievery, idol worship and other mischief.

6 And it repented the LORD that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart. 7 And the LORD said: 'I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and creeping thing, and fowl of the air; for it repents Me that I have made them.'

The beasts because of bestiality on the part of mankind.

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Noach was the grandson of the Tzadik Methuselah. He kept observance and worship from the tradition of Adam, Chanoch, and Methuselah. He was clean from violence, thievery, idolatry and romantic relations outside of his wife.

The Devout Catholic Girl at 770 by Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles

https://ascentofsafed.com/cgi-bin/ascent.cgi?Name=1453-04

Sam (fictitious name) was a Jew. True he wasn't very careful about the Jewish commandments but he knew he was a Jew, did some commandments and it was important to him at least subconsciously.

Being a young upcoming businessman he met a lot of attractive young women but he didn't give them much notice. Until, when he had a project that lasted several months in the same town, he met one that was different. At first their only connection was business, but eventually they discovered they had a lot in common. Except religion.

She was a devout Catholic. It was unthinkable that she would marry out. It meant eternal damnation! Her parents would never agree. Unless, he would convert.

But Sam wouldn't hear of it. He was a proud Jew. For sure he would never think about denying that. And marrying a gentile would mean the children wouldn't be Jewish, the house wouldn't be Jewish and his parents would be heartbroken. So they agreed to part and blessed one another that G-d would provide them with proper partners.

But because they were in the same general line of work, as 'fate' would have it, a year later they again met. But this time things were different. First of all it was in New York, Sam's home ground, and second, Sam was much more focused and to the point. He told her firmly and finally that, despite his positive feelings only if she were to convert could they have any connection. If not, this would be their last conversation.

The girl was torn, she really liked him but conversion was out of the question. She explained her dilemma but he was final and blunt. They exchanged phone numbers and again parted.

A few weeks later her phone rang. It was Sam. He had thought it over and decided that it was unfair for him to expect her to convert when she knew nothing about Judaism. Therefore, he will make her an offer.

In another few days there would be a festive Jewish holiday called Simchat Torah. If she wanted, she could experience it. He had spoken to a religious family in the Crown Heights area of Brooklyn who agreed to take her as a guest. Then she could ask questions, learn, see what real Judaism was and decide for herself.

She agreed, went and from the moment she arrived she enjoyed it. The two days of the Holiday were wonderful: the family, the chasidim and, of course, the joy. However, what was really something out of the ordinary and the true highlight for her, was seeing the Lubavitcher Rebbe. As soon as she looked down from the women's section and saw him, she was certain that if anyone could solve her dilemma it was he. She told this to the family that was hosting her.

A week later, after the holiday they a made few phone calls, arranged her an appointment for a private audience with the Rebbe (called 'Yechidus') and a few days after that she entered the Rebbe's office and poured out her heart. She explained how she was born and bred a Catholic, Sam was Jewish. He wanted her to convert. But her parents would never agree to her converting and she also had big doubts. She had been taught that it was a sin to leave the Church, but she didn't want to lose him. She was really confused. Should she leave him? Or should she convert with such doubts plaguing her?

The Rebbe answered matter-of-factly, "You can get married without converting. There is no need for you to convert."

She was startled and blurted out, "A Jew can marry a gentile? Really? But everyone told me... "

The Rebbe replied "You are not a gentile. You are a Jew."

She couldn't believe her ears, this was crazy. She? A Jew? "But you don't know me." She blurted out again. "I've been in this room only two minutes. I'm Catholic! I was born baptized and raised a Catholic. My parents are Catholics I go to church with them every Sunday. I'm not adopted or anything, I'm sure. Rebbe, for SURE I am not Jewish!"

The Rebbe just looked at her, smiled and said. "Go to your mother and ask her if you're Jewish or not."

She backed out of the Rebbe's office, returned to the house where she was a guest and called her mother long distance and asked: "Mother, am I Jewish?" She figured that her mother would simply answer 'certainly not', or 'that's silly' and that would be the end of it, but to her surprise, her mother slammed the phone down without saying a word, and didn't pick up when she called again.

"Strange" she thought to herself. Two days later she flew home and at the first opportunity took her mother aside and again asked.

"Shhhhh" Her mother whispered. "Don't talk about this when your father is at home. Tomorrow we will take a walk in the park and I'll explain."

The next day after her father left for work, they went for a walk in the park and when her mother was sure no one was around, she turned to her and said. "My dear daughter, it's true. You are Jewish. And so is your father, and so am I and so were our parents and their parents before them.

"But the Nazis changed all that. We met after the war. In the war we both spent years in the extermination camps. Death and suffering were everywhere. Our families and friends were all killed, some of them before our eyes. Maybe you read the stories but it's nothing like living it. And it was all because we were Jews.

"Well, before we married your father said he didn't want his children to suffer as he suffered and I agreed. So we changed our religion, we became Catholics, moved to France and thought that would be the end of it. We would be like everyone else. That's why we never told you."

The next day the girl returned to the Rebbe to give him the good news and the Rebbe replied. "Because you entered a Church you must immerse yourself in a mikvah, not for conversion but to remove the defilement of idolatry. Then you must learn the laws of Judaism."
[For a Jew any religion other than Judaism is considered ‘strange worship’ and that goes for other monotheistic religions like Islam too.]

Today she and Sam are married, live in Haifa and have a chasidic family with children and grandchildren, and share helping to make the world a better place.

Why this Week? Tomorrow night, Monday, starts the Simchat Torah festival in Israel. Outside of Israel it starts on Tuesday night.

Biographical note:
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe (11 Nissan 1902 - 3 Tammuz 1994), became the seventh Rebbe of the Chabad dynasty after his father-in-law, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, passed away in Brooklyn on 10 Shvat 1950. He is widely acknowledged as the greatest Jewish leader of the second half of the 20th century. Although a dominant scholar in both the revealed and hidden aspects of Torah and fluent in many languages and scientific subjects, the Rebbe is best known for his extraordinary love and concern for every Jew on the planet. His emissaries around the globe dedicated to strengthening Judaism number in the thousands. Many hundreds of volumes of his teachings have been printed, and hundreds of English renditions too.

It Was Never About the Hostages! By Rabbi Josh Wander

Is the Wool Being Pulled Over Israel’s Eyes?

We are living through unprecedented historic events, and yet most people are sleepwalking through them. The headlines scream “hope,” “progress,” and “relief.” The talking heads assure us that the nightmare is nearly over. The hostages are coming home. The war is winding down. We can finally exhale and “go back to normal.” And of course, we are told, we owe it all to our fearless leaders—Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu, and their global coalition.

But scratch just beneath the surface and the truth becomes unavoidable: this was never about the hostages.

Lessons From History

Israel’s history is littered with moments where leaders bypassed the will of the people, intoxicated the public with illusions of peace, and handed over land in exchange for nothing but bloodshed in return. From Rabin’s Oslo Accords to Sharon’s Gaza disengagement, we have learned three painful lessons:

1. The leadership does not need the consent—or even the support—of the people.

2. The majority of Israelis can be lulled into complacency by the fantasy of peace, no matter how absurd.

3. The outcome is always the same: disaster.

Every time land is relinquished—Sinai, Judea and Samaria, Gaza, Southern Lebanon—the vacuum is filled with terror, not peace. And now, before our very eyes, we are watching the same fatal error repeat itself.

The Hijacking of the Hostage Crisis

The Israeli public has been deceived into thinking this war and its resolution revolve around the hostages. The truth is far more sinister.

The same anarchists who flooded the streets before October 7th—chanting against judicial reform and seeking to strip power from the people—rebranded overnight. Their “Bring Them Home Now” campaign became the new slogan. But this was not born of compassion. It was a cold, calculated pivot.

They knew their earlier agenda had failed to rally the masses. So they cloaked their efforts in the one cause no Israeli could oppose: freeing the hostages. The result? Hundreds of millions poured into a polished PR machine. Kaplanism was born, tolerated and even celebrated, though corrupt at its core.

And here lies the genius of the deception: they have made taking this poison pill palatable by disguising it as sweet candy. Who could resist swallowing it when it comes wrapped in the sugar-coating of compassion, solidarity, and national unity?

The Axis of Evil—Disguised as Peace

The culmination of this scheme is now visible. President Trump, together with Prime Minister Netanyahu, has gathered a coalition of wolves in sheep’s clothing: Iran, Turkey, Egypt, and the European Union. Yes, even Egypt and Turkey—our so-called “peace partners”—are now dictating terms. The deal? End the war, free the hostages, and in the process, strip Israel of all diplomatic power.

But again—it was never about the hostages.

It is about dismantling Israel from within. It is about implanting a foreign entity into our heart. It is about resurrecting the corpse of the two-state solution—this time on steroids.

The Prophecy Unfolding

What is happening today is not random—it was foreseen thousands of years ago. The prophet Zechariah declared:

“And I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem for war.” (Zechariah 14:2)

This very passage, read publicly during the haftorah on Sukkos, is unfolding before our eyes. The nations of the world are uniting against Jerusalem, cloaking their hostility in the language of “peace” and “humanitarian concern.” Yet the prophecy tells us clearly: their true intent is war against God’s people and His city.

But Zechariah continues with the promise of redemption:

“Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle.” (Zechariah 14:3)

And this Shabbat, the haftorah of Gog u’Magog in Yechezkel warns us of the storm to come:

“Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince, chief of Meshech and Tubal; and prophesy against him, and say: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, Gog, prince, chief of Meshech and Tubal.” (Ezekiel 38:2–3)

And later:

“And you shall come from your place out of the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great assembly, and a mighty army.” (Ezekiel 38:15)

The prophets foretell that before redemption, there will be chaos on a scale the world has never seen. The ugliness of evil will seem to prevail, and much destruction may, God forbid, need to happen in order to awaken us. The storm of Gog u’Magog is not distant—it is upon us.

The Bitter Irony

And tragically, just as with Menachem Begin and the Sinai, Ariel Sharon and Gaza, the so-called Israeli right is once again leading the charge. Netanyahu himself is paving the way for the forced creation of a mythical “Palestinian nation,” concocted in 1964, to be planted inside our borders by hook or by crook.

The heads of this campaign—sitting in smoke-filled rooms, sipping scotch, laughing at our naiveté—know exactly what they are doing. And the Israeli public? Too many are blind, complacent, or eager to believe the illusion.

Wake Up Before It’s Too Late

This is no longer about land or even about lives—it is about the very survival of the Jewish State. If we continue to fall for the manipulation, if we allow the wool to be pulled over our eyes, then the dream of Zion itself will be dismantled before our very noses.

It was never about the hostages. It was always about the destruction of Israel. Unless we wake up to the truth, their sinister plan will be realized, and history will record how we handed our homeland away while celebrating false victories.

But the prophecies of Zechariah and Yechezkel assure us: even as the Nations gather against us, Hashem Himself will rise to defend His people.

The end of the story is not despair—it is redemption. Truth will prevail, evil will be banished from our land, and the light of Geula will shine forth from Jerusalem to the entire world.

The storm of Gog u’Magog may yet rage, but beyond it awaits the dawn of Hashem’s eternal kingdom.

Op-Ed: Imre Beke October 13 at 3:10 PM

Anyone with a brain knows what will happen in the Holy Land:

Hamas' leadership will form a new political organization which will consist primarily of "former" Hamas officials. They will find someone who has little or no outward ties to Hamas to be the figurehead, strings pulled by "former" Hamas officials.

In the meantime, Hamas' military leaders will go underground, either keeping the Hamas name or choosing something new. They will spread the word that the Jihad lives on and the spirit of Hamas survives.

There will be relative calm - not true peace but a temporary cessation of terrorist attacks - for maybe six months. If they are REALLY disciplined - unlikely, but possible - they will wait roughly a year. Then, they will attack on October 7 or October 12 or possibly even on September 11. And the whole rigmarole starts all over again.

When they do attack, they will probably take a ton of new hostages. They gave up these hostages because in a month, they would have been dead. Their value to Hamas was running out. Israeli intelligence may not have been able to pin down the locations of all the hostages, but they always seemed to find out when a hostage died. The moment the last hostage passed, the war in Gaza would have become a thousand times worse. Thus, Hamas got one final benefit out of the 20 remaining, living hostages. They got thousands of Hamas fighters released.

What do people think those thousands of terrorists will do? They weren't broken in prison. They were hardened. They are worse now than when they were put away. They are not parties to this "peace plan."

October 7 was said to have been perpetrated by about a thousand Hamas butchers. What will this two thousand do once Hamas - or whatever these animals will call themselves in the future - regroups?

This isn't peace. It is the calm before the Cat 5 hurricane...
