BDE the soul of Tsvia Simcha bas
Devorah Yachad, came to rest on Motzei Shabbos, Purim. Despite a long battle,
our prayers kept her going for a few years.
Rabbi Chaim ZTZAL said that every
minute of life is precious and it is a time where we can get closer to HASHEM.
Parsha Tzav
We had gotten to the
construction of the Mishkan. The working of the Mishkan consisted on the Avoda
(work) of the Cohanim and that is the Korbanos with the daily sacrifice Korban
Tamid and the others mentioned last week through the Bechoros (first born
animals). We continue where we left off with the Korbanos and the dedication of
the Mishkan.
6:1 And the LORD spoke unto
Moses, saying: 2 Command Aaron and his sons, saying: This is the law
of the burnt-offering: it is that which goes up on its firewood upon the altar
all night unto the morning; and the fire of the altar shall be kept burning
thereby.
The Korban Olah shall be burnt to a crisp.
3 And
the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen breeches shall he put
upon his flesh; and he shall take up the ashes whereto the fire hath consumed
the burnt-offering on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar.
Not only during the slaughter must the Cohain say: “In the
name of Korban Olah” but he has to be wearing his linen garments.
4 And
he shall put off his garments, and put on other garments, and carry forth the
ashes without the camp unto a clean place.
He shall then take off his garments: This is not an obligation, but proper practice, that, by
taking out the ashes, he should not soil the garments in which he constantly
officiates. [By analogy:] The clothes worn [by a servant] while cooking a pot
[of food] for his master, he should not wear when he mixes a glass [of wine]
for his master. Hence, [the verse continues,] “and put on other garments,”
inferior to those [garments of the kehunah he had been wearing till now]. — [Yoma 23b] And he shall
take out the ashes: [By
contrasting verse 3, “And he shall lift out (וְהֵריִם) the
ashes,” with verse 4 here, “And he shall take out (וְהוֹצִיא) the
ashes,” we see that there were two distinct obligations with regards to
removing ashes from the altar: a) תּרוּמַת הַדֶּשֶׁן, “lifting out”
some of the innermost ashes from the altar and placing them next to the altar,
and b) הוֹצָאַת
הַדֶּשֶׁן, “taking out” the
heap of ashes from atop the altar when they became overflowing, to a place
“outside the camp.” Thus, our verse here, “And he shall take out the ashes,”
refers to those ashes] which were heaped up in the apple-shaped pile [of ashes
on top of the altar]. When this pile became so large that there was no longer
any room on the wood-pile, he [the kohen] would take it out of there. Now, this was not a daily
obligation (Tamid 28b),
but lifting out [some innermost ashes] was a daily obligation. — [Tamid 20a]
Verse three seems to be lifting up from the Mizbayach and
verse 4 scraping on to a pan to remove the ashes based on the Rashi.
5 And
the fire upon the altar shall be kept burning thereby, it shall not go out; and
the priest shall kindle wood on it every morning; and he shall lay the
burnt-offering in order upon it, and shall make smoke thereon the fat of the
peace-offerings. 6 Fire shall be kept burning upon the altar continually;
it shall not go out.
Even when there is no Korban, since the original fire came
from heaven, so shall the fire continue. And it was so from the Mishkan
throughout the days of the first Beis HaMikdash.
It shall not go out: [Since “it shall not go out” is stated twice, once in verse 5
and a second time here,] anyone who extinguishes the fire on top of the altar,
transgresses two negative commandments.
7 And
this is the law of the meal-offering: the sons of Aaron shall offer it before
the LORD, in front of the altar. 8 And he shall take up therefrom his
handful, of the fine flour of the meal-offering, and of the oil thereof, and
all the frankincense which is upon the meal-offering, and shall make the
memorial-part thereof smoke upon the altar for a sweet savor unto the
LORD.
A handful and the procedure of Kamitzsa, I described last
week but in case you forgot it is grabbing a handful of flour. Then with the
thumb on one side and the pinky on the other side scraping away in the Cohain’s
hand the excess. Leaving only the flour caught under the three middle
fingers.
In his fist: [This teaches us that] he may not make a measure for a
fistful [but rather, he must use his fingers directly]. - [Toras Kohanim 6:27]
9 And
that which is left thereof shall Aaron and his sons eat; it shall be eaten
without leaven in a holy place; in the court of the tent of meeting they shall
eat it. 10 It shall not be baked with leaven. I have given it as
their portion of My offerings made by fire; it is most holy, as the sin-offering,
and as the guilt-offering.
All the Korbanos except for the loaves of the Korban Todah
(Thanksgiving) were non-leaven.
11 Every
male among the children of Aaron may eat of it, as a due for ever throughout
your generations, from the offerings of the LORD made by fire; whatsoever
touches them shall be holy.
Holy meaning a Cohain and ritually pure (Tahor).
Any (or every) male: Even if he has a blemish [which disqualifies him from
performing the sacrificial service]. And why is this stated? If [this refers]
to eating [the meal-offering, this is already stated [in Lev. 21:22, where
Scripture says, referring to a kohen who has a blemish], “The offerings to his God from the
holiest of the holy things [and from the holy things he may eat].” Rather,
[Scripture here comes] to include blemished kohanim in the equal division [of meal-offerings, among all
the kohanim [of
the watch (מִשְׁמָר) , see Rashi Lev. 7:9)]
12 And
the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying: 13 This is the offering of Aaron
and of his sons, which they shall offer unto the LORD in the day when he is
anointed: the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering
perpetually, half of it in the morning, and half thereof in the evening.
The meal offering was made twice daily as was the Korban
Tamid. Note this was measured and not like the edible meal offering.
14 On
a griddle it shall be made with oil; when it is soaked, thou shalt bring it in;
in broken pieces shalt thou offer the meal-offering for a sweet savor unto the
LORD.
Fried.
15 And
the anointed priest that shall be in his stead from among his sons shall offer
it, it is a due for ever; it shall be wholly made to smoke unto the
LORD. 16 And every meal-offering of the priest shall be wholly made
to smoke; it shall not be eaten.
Since this meal offering was a Tamid, it was kept on the
Mizbayach for HASHEM only!
17 And
the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying: 18 Speak unto Aaron and to his
sons, saying: This is the law of the sin-offering: in the place where the
burnt-offering is ritually slaughtered shall
the sin-offering be killed before the LORD; it is most holy.
Korban Hatas.
19 The
priest that offers it for sin shall eat it; in a holy place shall it be eaten,
in the court of the tent of meeting. 20 Whatsoever shall touch the
flesh thereof shall be holy; and when there is sprinkled of the blood thereof
upon any garment, thou shalt wash that whereon it was sprinkled in a holy place. 21 But
the earthen vessel wherein it is sodden shall be broken; and if it be sodden in
a brazen vessel, it shall be scoured, and rinsed in water. 22 Every
male among the priests may eat thereof; it is most holy.
The breaking of the earthen vessel is a special procedure.
The sin offering can be eaten by male Cohanim.
23
And no sin-offering, whereof any of the blood is brought into the tent of
meeting to make atonement in the holy place, shall be eaten; it shall be burnt
with fire. 7.1 And this is the law of the guilt-offering: it is most
holy. 2 In the place where they kill the burnt-offering shall they kill
the guilt-offering: and the blood thereof shall be dashed against the altar
round about. 3 And he shall offer of it all the fat thereof: the fat
tail, and the fat that covers the inwards, 4 and the two kidneys, and
the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the lobe above the liver,
which he shall take away by the kidneys. 5 And the priest shall make
them smoke upon the altar for an offering made by fire unto the LORD; it is a
guilt-offering. 6 Every male among the priests may eat thereof; it shall
be eaten in a holy place; it is most holy.
As with the Korban Chatas,
the Korban Asham is most holy and all the male Cohanim can eat from it.
7 As
is the sin-offering, so is the guilt-offering; there is one law for them; the
priest that makes atonement therewith, he shall have it. 8 And the
priest that offers any man's burnt-offering, even the priest shall have to
himself the skin of the burnt-offering which he hath offered. 9 And
every meal-offering that is baked in the oven, and all that is dressed in the
stewing-pan, and on the griddle, shall be the priest's that offers
it. 10 And every meal-offering, mingled with oil, or dry, shall all
the sons of Aaron have, one as well as
another. 11 And this is the law of the sacrifice of peace-offerings,
which one may offer unto the LORD. 12 If he offer it for a
thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened
cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers spread with oil, and cakes
mingled with oil, of fine flour soaked. 13 With cakes of leavened
bread he shall present his offering with the sacrifice of his peace-offerings for
thanksgiving.
Of all the Korbanos, only the Todah has leaven with it.
14 And
of it he shall present one out of each offering for a gift unto the LORD; it
shall be the priest's that dashes the blood of the peace-offerings against the
altar. 15 And the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace-offerings for
thanksgiving shall be eaten on the day of his offering; he shall not leave any
of it until the morning.
He has the day and the following night to eat of the Korban
but because of the danger of Kares, one usually stopped by midnight eating of the
Korban. Using hour glasses etc. time was not as precise as today but the custom
will remain in order to keep a person away from sinning.
16 But
if the sacrifice of his offering be a vow, or a freewill-offering, it shall be
eaten on the day that he offers his sacrifice; and on the morrow that which
remains of it may be eaten. 17 But that which remains of the flesh of
the sacrifice on the third day shall be burnt with fire. 18 And if any of
the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace-offerings be at all eaten on the third
day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be imputed unto him that offers
it; it shall be an abhorred thing, and the soul that eats of it shall bear his
iniquity. 19 And the flesh that touches any unclean thing shall not be eaten;
it shall be burnt with fire. And as for the flesh, every one that is clean may
eat thereof. 20 But the soul that eats of the flesh of the sacrifice of
peace-offerings, that pertain unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him,
that soul shall be cut off from his people. 21 And when any one shall
touch any unclean thing, whether it be the uncleanness of man, or an unclean
beast, or any unclean detestable thing, and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice
of peace-offerings, which pertain unto the LORD, that soul shall be cut off
from his people. 22 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying: 23
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying: Ye shall eat no fat, of ox, or
sheep, or goat.
This is not fat upon the muscles but Chelev
which is forbidden fat which is on the internal organs and the tail fat (Aliyah)
is forbidden elsewhere.
24 And the fat of that which dies of itself,
and the fat of that which is torn of beasts, may be used for any other service;
but ye shall in no wise eat of it. 25 For whosoever eats the fat of the
beast, of which men present an offering made by fire unto the LORD, even the
soul that eats it shall be cut off from his people.
This is one of the 36 Kares prohibitions which
is cutting off from the nation in the next world. FYI violations of Shabbos,
Family Purity, Adultery, Incest etc. are parts of this category.
26 And ye shall eat no manner of blood,
whether it be of fowl or of beast, in any of your dwellings. 27 Whosoever
it be that eats any blood, that soul shall be cut off from his people.
Not only did we have the blood libel for
centuries but we are forbidden to eat blood with the penalty of Kares.
This is one of the
forms of Kares as the life force of the animal is in its blood – the exception
is the blood of fish for some reason and that is treated like the juice of a
fish. This could be the difference between a warm-blooded creature like a bird
or animal and a cold-blooded fish or locust. For centuries in Europe on Pesach
there was the lie spread that we used the blood of a Christian child to bake
our Matzos so in these countries only white wine could be drunk. The only ones
who had wine as if blood and Matzos were the Christians in a ceremony this is
my body and this is my blood as a certain Jew was murdered by the Romans and
Crucified by them on Yom Tov. Nowadays the ‘enlightened’ “religion of peace”
continues that lie. Why in Afghanistan the rumor went out that a certain woman
burned a Koran on Friday it did not matter whether she did or didn’t it took
less than five minutes this past Friday to separate the brain from the skull by
the mobs.
28 And the LORD
spoke unto Moses, saying: 29 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying: He that
offers his sacrifice of peace-offerings unto the LORD shall bring his offering
unto the LORD out of his sacrifice of peace-offerings. 30 His own hands shall
bring the offerings of the LORD made by fire: the fat with the breast shall he
bring, that the breast may be waved for a wave-offering before the LORD. 31 And
the priest shall make the fat smoke upon the altar; but the breast shall be Aaron's
and his sons'. 32 And the right thigh shall ye give unto the priest for a
heave-offering out of your sacrifices of peace-offerings.
The breast is part
of the gifts that the Cohain gets but this is a free-will one. I believe Korban
Pesach is an exception and correct me if I am wrong.
33 He among the sons of Aaron, that offers
the blood of the peace-offerings, and the fat, shall have the right thigh for a
portion. 34 For the breast of waving and the thigh of heaving have I taken of
the children of Israel out of their sacrifices of peace-offerings, and have
given them unto Aaron the priest and unto his sons as a due for ever from the children
of Israel.
Here is the
reference to the Zeroa or thigh and it is the right thigh.
35 This is the
consecrated portion of Aaron, and the consecrated portion of his sons, out of
the offerings of the LORD made by fire, in the day when they were presented to
minister unto the LORD in the priest's office; 36 which the LORD commanded to
be given them of the children of Israel, in the day that they were anointed. It
is a due for ever throughout their generations. 37 This is the law of the
burnt-offering, of the meal-offering, and of the sin-offering, and of the
guilt-offering, and of the consecration-offering, and of the sacrifice of
peace-offerings; 38 which the LORD commanded Moses in mount Sinai, in the day
that he commanded the children of Israel to present their offerings unto the
LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai.
This is part of their anointment as
Cohanim as the Priesthood continues forever from father to son and does not
need any more consecration. The same applies to David and his seed forever. And
between both families it is written “HE who Shalom in HIS high places will make
Shalom upon us and all Yisrael forever.”
Please pay attention because this
section was used in connection to the section above about the clothes of the
Kahuna by Rabbi Avraham Hafuta:
8:1 And the LORD spoke unto
Moses, saying: 2 'Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the
anointing oil, and the bullock of the sin-offering, and the two rams, and the
basket of unleavened bread; 3 and assemble thou all the congregation at the
door of the tent of meeting.' 4 And Moses did as the LORD commanded him; and
the congregation was assembled at the door of the tent of meeting. 5 And Moses
said unto the congregation: 'This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded to
be done.' 6 And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water. 7
And he put upon him the tunic, and girded him with the girdle, and clothed him
with the robe, and put the ephod upon him, and he girded him with the
skillfully woven band of the ephod, and bound it unto him therewith. 8 And he
placed the breastplate upon him; and in the breastplate he put the Urim and the
Thummim. 9 And he set the mitre upon his head; and upon the mitre, in front,
did he set the golden plate, the holy crown; as the LORD commanded Moses. 10
And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was
therein, and sanctified them. 11 And he sprinkled thereof upon the altar seven
times, and anointed the altar and all its vessels, and the laver and its base,
to sanctify them. 12 And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and
anointed him, to sanctify him. 13 And Moses brought Aaron's sons, and clothed
them with tunics, and girded them with girdles, and bound head-tires upon them;
as the LORD commanded Moses. 14 And the bullock of the sin-offering was
brought; and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the bullock
of the sin-offering. 15 And when it was slain, Moses took the blood, and put it
upon the horns of the altar roundabout with his finger, and purified the altar,
and poured out the remaining blood at the base of the altar, and sanctified it,
to make atonement for it.
I have no intention of copying all
the statements from Rabbi Hafuta regarding how the physical garments enhances
the spiritual priest. For surely somebody on that level of Torah, Mitzvos and
good deeds does not need more that what Yacov Avinu prayed for in Parsha
Vayeitzei “Bread to eat and a garment to wear” and here a few generations after
Yacov, Aaron is wearing a bejeweled breast plate. The blood was put on the
right thumb.
Rabbi Hafuta brought in the name of
Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Shlita, the son of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef Ztz”l that when
Rabbi Ovadia was weak in his last months and days and Rabbi Yitzchak placed the
Chief Sephardic Rabbi Turban on his head, he was visibly moved to internal
fortitude and Simcha. We see from this story that the clothing of the Cohain
gave him internal joy and peace and therefore he could serve HASHEM and Am
Yisrael with joy and peace.
16 And he took all the fat that
was upon the inwards, and the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys, and their
fat, and Moses made it smoke upon the altar. 17 But the bullock, and its skin,
and its flesh, and its dung, were burnt with fire without the camp; as the LORD
commanded Moses. 18 And the ram of the burnt-offering was presented; and Aaron
and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.
In each Korban a person or in the
case of the Pascal Lamb, a representative of the group had to be present at the
slaughtering ceremony to put his/their hand(s) on the Korban and call it out by
name and then the person slaughtering would repeat “In the name of such and
such a Korban” as he slaughtered it.
19 And when it was slaughtered ritually, Moses dashed the blood against
the altar round about. 20 And when the ram was cut into its pieces, Moses made
the head, and the pieces, and the suet smoke. 21 And when the inwards and the
legs were washed with water, Moses made the whole ram smoke upon the altar; it
was a burnt-offering for a sweet savor; it was an offering made by fire unto
the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses. 22 And the other ram was presented, the
ram of consecration, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of
the ram. 23 And when it was slain, Moses took of the blood thereof, and put it
upon the tip of Aaron's right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and
upon the great toe of his right foot.
We had in Parsha Mishpatim of the
Eved HaYehudi who had his ear lobe drilled into the Mezuzah (in this case it
means lintel of the door and not our modern Mezuzah). There it was not
specified which ear and here we have which one so the Rabbis said it would also
be the right ear there. The dedication here was to make holy and atone for the
whole body of a Cohain.
24 And Aaron's sons were brought,
and Moses put of the blood upon the tip of their right ear, and upon the thumb
of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot; and Moses
dashed the blood against the altar round about.
Aaron’s sons were adult and had
helped already in sacrifices and had to be koshered like Aaron, himself.
Pinchas was either not born or not of age and therefore was included
automatically in the future.

Due to all the miracle stories this week, I will forego
Passover Planning, Shopping, Cleaning and Preparation
Pep lecture.
This week I have more than six stories that are miracle
stories.
As Moshiach approaches more and more miracles occur.
Two Medical Miracles for Miriam
bas Yocheved
Same name
as Moshe’s sister as retold by Rachamim Pauli
Every Purim for approximately the last 9 years minus Covid
and Erev Shabbos, we have been going to R’ Rafael Solomon henceforth Raphy.
There have been always interesting people at his Purim Seuda (meal). Since we
are sitting families most of the time it is mixed. Once in the next seat was (today
Major) Karen one of the English Spokespeople for the IDF or she prepares
Admiral Daniel’s speeches.
Being the host, Raphy opened the conversation. He said that
on Oct. 7th we had a very big Nes (Miracle). Hamas was supposed to
continue to Beer Sheva and take over the Hatzirim Air Base and perhaps another.
There were only two tanks available for 15 square kilometers. They should have
damaged more army bases along the way. Hezballah was supposed to send their
Rag’wan force all the way to Netanya if they could and an attack from Yehuda
and Shomron towards the center of the country. Instead Hezballah and the
Shomron did not attack and Hamas was too busy with murder, (rape,) and pillaging to meet their military objectives.
Miriam is a writing for the Times of Israel that
covers a lot of news other English sites miss. One day she went for a routine
check-up to the eye doctor. He immediately sent her to the Emergency Room. When
she got there, the doctors could not believe that she had walked in as if she
had nothing.
Her Ophthalmologist at the hospital told her that she had
fluids in the brain pressing on her optic nerve and that she could lose her
sight in any time from a few days to a few weeks. They gave her a medicine that
works in most cases to stop the fluids. But for some reason it did not work for
her. They tried draining fluids and she still had the same danger.
Then Miriam did some treatment that the doctors did not
think about. She put her whole self in the Hashgacha of HASHEM Yisborach. She
basically demanded from HASHEM that HE cure her. Then she prepared her clothing
and bags to leave the hospital. Normally in takes days even if the medicine
works. She wrote to her readers that she is coming home tomorrow.
The next day the doctor walks into the ward flabbergasted.
He has never seen or read of such a case that the patient is suddenly cured as
if there had been nothing there at all.
Miriam is released home.
But our story does not end here as she is about to
experience a second medical miracle. About two months later something heavy
like a cinder-block falls on her leg. This time the damage to the leg is one
thing but the nerve is raw and remains so. She is given morphine but the pain
is still there from her nerve. Again, Miriam put her trust in HASHEM. Miriam is
released from the hospital on the next day.
Raphy said to me: “Rachamim, you have a story for this
week.”
A closure hug for Mommy by Rachamim Pauli
This story was in a five
or more-minute interview with a woman who lost her daughter on Oct. 7th.
The girl was at the Nova Party and called that there are Kassams coming her
way. She is running towards her car and speaking to Mommy and Daddy. She says
that terrorists have crossed the border and are shooting at her.
She has been hit in the
back and in the legs and can no longer run. Mom is in such a panic that the Dad
tries to calm her down for self-first aid. The conversation when on for a few
minutes then she says the terrorists are getting closer and shooting people. A
few minutes later silence for good.
For close to 160 days,
the distraught mother had buried her daughter but with no closure. Then one
night the daughter comes to her in a dream all bloodied. She goes over their
last conversation. She continues to talk to sooth her mother and gives her a
big long hug in the dream. For the first time, the mother gets closure.
While many think that
the Yeshiva Learning is not doing much for the IDF. I believe that the Angels
Produced by give and take of Gemara and Halacha learning is the recipe that
kept Shimrit Romano alive. Shimrit by all means should have been dead. He was
stationed in an upper floor of a school also known as a rocket, mortar, guns,
grenades and other munitions stowage facility. He was stationed at a window
looking out for Hamas gunmen and snipers. He was distracted slightly by a group
of 20 or more Arabs with white flags below. Slightly thereafter, he was shot
precisely though his wind pipe. By now he had no air coming in and most likely
he would never talk again if he survived.
He was on Nesli’s
morning show telling his story so he survived and is talking. He still had
during the interview a bandage where the bullet had entered.
Drive by miracle:
Yesterday, Wednesday, a bus driver did not hear the siren and a rocket whizzed
by meters from him with only a small amount of explosives that nothing happened
to him or the bus.
Yair Lipshitz was not expected to live by Rachamim
Pauli
The Lt. or Cpt. Yair
was leading his paratrooper company into an attack on a building complex. He
was charging a building that his unit was attacking. Suddenly he was hit from a
roof. He was down and bleeding perfusely from several places.
He had lost so much
blood that before they can helicopter transport him to the hospital, he is
given 4 pints of blood. Now with his infusion on the way to the hospital he
blacks out. After days unconscious and 23 or 27 operations, he wakes up. (you
see a fuzzy photo of his bottom half with an all red uniform and a bandaged
leg).
Slowly but surely Yair
relearns to walk in the hospital. Then he makes it to a treadmill until he can
run. This year he ran and completed the Yerushalayim Marathon.
There is one story that
has not been shown on the Israeli TV but advertised for the time of Kabbalas
Shabbos (taking upon us Shabbos). It is about a soldier that entered a
building, got caught in a firefight. He fell wounded to the floor and could not
see. He kept saying Shema Yisrael in his head. He prayed that his unit would
not first throw a grenade into the room.
The story is about trying
to regain his eyesight but not sure he did from what I saw of the promotion. So
the miracle of not being left for dead or blown up by a grenade exists.
Now for the Crème de la Crème Miracle Story.
Based on a 9 minute What’s App from
Moshe Ben (Ben Baruch) Poselov a high-ranking Shin
Bet Officer
English Rachamim Pauli
Sometimes heaven puts
you through a test. Moshe was supposed to be the head of the interrogation section.
This happened four years ago. Moshe was having problems he was diagnosed with 9cm
growth within his brain. Being from the Shin Bet, he found the best doctors in
Israel. Most refused to operate and the one who said that he could but the consequences
were to be paralyzed over half of Moshe’s body. He discussed what was happening
with his boss. His boss asked him if he could contact Yossi Cohen of the Mossad
and perhaps he could find a doctor to help him outside of Israel.
After about a half an
hour, Yossi calls. Yossi said, “Moshe why didn’t you tell me you were ill?” Moshe:
“You have the Iranians and others on your head why should you be bothered with
me?” Y: “I’ll do my best to find you a solution. Just tell me what you need.
Even if there is one doctor only in Syria, I’ll find you a way to get there and
back.” Yossi had contacts abroad and with Rabbi Elimelech Firer Shlita and
found that there is a group in the USA that has a new method of doing brain
operations.
The doctors explained
that they were going to get to the tumor in three ways one on top of the brain,
one above the ear and one below the ear.
Moshe then continues
and the story is in first person. It was right after the first operation that I
was having trouble breathing. I saw a vision what is described in near death
experiences as a tunnel-vestibule. I was greeted by my sister of blessed memory
Major Michal Smart and my aunt Margalit. I see my grandfather with his two best
friends as he had built a Bukharin Synagogue in Tel Aviv. I had told my
grandfather as a small child that I wanted to be a rocket scientist. He told me
to be a good one but also build a Synagogue and I wanted to tell him what I had
done in building one. But my sister and aunt prevented me from getting to him.
One of the two friends
of grandfather came to my aunt and asks “Who is that?” What is amazing is that
I knew his name even though I was three and a half to four when my grandfather
died. “That is Moshe the son of Esther.”
I wanted to stay there
and the two say “You can’t stay you have to go back.” So, I said, “Perhaps only
for Shabbos?” And then Michal says “Perhaps just for Shabbos?” Margalit says
something in the Bukharin Language and I don’t know what she said. So, it is
then that I realize that all the people I say are from my family but no longer
alive. She says, “You have to go back.” I say, “Why can’t I stay?” She: “Because
people are waiting for you down there.” I thought that I would see hundreds of
people that I had saved from bombs of the terrorists, but this was not so. I looked
and then I see the workers from the Shin Bet were learning and praying for me. Groups
and groups of people studying Torah and learning.
About a year later, I met my first cousin,
Sara. She had a dream the night of my operation that Margalit, her mother, came
to her and said in the Bukharin language to pray for Moshe for if he does not return
aunt Esther will die if she hears that Moshe is gone.
The conversation ends
when the moderator says to Moshe. “Your story shows that Prayer has power.”
Moshe replies, “I too believe that prayer has power.”
Because each story comes
from my knowledge and memory and I would not be able to do any Torah
commentary, the next three miracle stories will be next week Bli Neder (without
making a vow).
